Dr Atkinson is the best, honest and very helpful. I had my dentist recommending oral surgery , and was going to refer me to his good friend to do the bone graft etc..I called for an appointment with my orthodontist who questioned the need but referred me to Dr. Atkinson. After examining me and reviewing the x rays all I needed was deep root cleaning.. no bone graft or long term treatment. Thanks Dr. Atkinson I have had no other issues.. I might add the second opinion of the orthodontist and that of Dr. Atkinson prevented me a long process of bone grafts, pain and expense..

I saw Dr. Atkinson for at least 5 years. He never learned my name or took steps to help my condition improve. During the time I was with him, he didn't tell me I needed a filling until after many cleanings and me telling him that the floss was shredding in between two teeth. What scared me though was my teeth were getting loose under his care. He told me "we'll start numbing those areas" and cleaning them better. Dr. Atkinson wants to do surgery; his money is in surgery. He doesn't want you to get better. When I went to the general dentist to get the filling done they told me that nothing was being done for my disease. They gave me some mouthwash, some flouroide and made suggestions to me. When I told Dr. Atkinson, his response was "maybe you need to go back to them then." I am surprised he remains in business. The actuality is the last name staring with an A is what keeps him in business. He really should stop being a periodontist.
