5 months using Aflatoon for medication mgmt., the office staff is not ever able to answer basic billing questions, 5 months and I still have no idea why our 30 minute appointments range from $150 to $800+ per appointment. The insurance claims are crazy for 30 minute appointments. With no notice- he cut back to two days a week and then without notice, cancelled our appointment after waiting for a month for the appt, at the last minute. So now we will go without meds until we can find another appointment. 5 months to finally have a med regime that works well and our appointment is delayed to the point of going without a prescription refill until we find a better solution.

I have had horrible experiences with New Focus, Some of us work at jobs that DO NOT allow us to wait around hours in their office for our appointment. I had one day every three months. They waiited so long I had to leave the first time, after paying for my appointment and them not seeing me. They schedule an evening appt and have the nerve to call me to cancel it stating they do not see new patients later in the evening. I AM NOT A NEW PATIENT, they just don't keep records on file longer than 6 months so they were making me do all the paperwork, yada, yada all over again. Ok now I want to know if I am going to get my money back for an appointment they have never filled.

This place is awful. Be prepared to wait at least 1 1/2 hours to see Aflatoon only to get about 3 minutes with him. In those 3 minutes, he looks up from his phone about 2 of them. The front desk staff have no idea what they're doing. They didn't confirm my insurance, wouldn't believe me that I had HRA funds (had no idea what that was), and charged me some random amount. I called BCBS as soon as I got home and sure enough I was right. Good luck getting my money back. If you are court ordered to be here or are brought in in handcuffs by an armored guard from the prison behind the building, you'll fit right in. If not, you'll be treated like a criminal. Sitting in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours is like being in a crazy house.

I had Dr. Aflatoon as an inpatient at NUMC six years ago, and he was the beyond amazing. This gentleman is one of the most caring, passionate, and knowledgeable doctors I have ever had. He saw me as a person, and not a moving object. I wound up seeing him a few years later at a NAMI meeting, and he remembered me and my profession. I recommend this doctor and think any future patients of his are extremely lucky and blessed. Thank you Dr. A
