Please read and take this into sincere consideration as I would feel horrible for anyone to have to go through what I went through seeing this psychiatric NP. I asked the doctor a question about a particular medication; he pulled up his personal phone and researched the medication to make me read the side effects. The doctor completely made me question myself and I walked in anxious (have anxiety) and left with more anxiety than ever before to be quite honest. He’s difficult to understand and hear which is fine, but asked me a question about previous medications and I guess when I told him I repeated one of the medications by accident; instead of just passing it along, he responding by telling me you just keep repeating yourself are you listening do you not understand? It gets only worse. He later on said directly to me “are you ok, you’re off” direct quotation. I was not going to allow a NP to speak that way to me and responded with excuse me and he tried defending himself, but I would not tolerate that. Completely unprofessional with his shirt unbuttoned. He did not ask me one question about my depression or anxiety and only typed and stared at his computer the entire time asking simple questions such as are you married. I cannot believe and feel bad for any individual who has to sit through staring out the window while he criticizes you and is completely distracted and unprofessional. He simply wrote scripts of what I used to be on and did not care to ask why I’m on the medications or what the actual presenting concerns. You could not pay me any amount of money to go back to see him and it’s a shame for individuals seeking help to only feel more helpless and hopeless after walking out of the “session.”
