All of the previous reviews are clearly written by the doctor himself. The language indicates this -- "simply not the case," "which took me a long time," "pharmacology skills." Read the reviews for Alyson T. Baptiste-Parent and others. They sound far more legitimate.

Dr. Jain is the best psychiatrist I have found in the area, which took me a very long time. He works with me and I am able to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time (1-2 weeks) if I need to be seen or change my medicines. If I have a question, I can always leave a message with his receptionist (Mary Jane, who is amazing) and one of them ALWAYS gets back to me. They refill any medications I need within 24 hours, no exceptions. The communication with Dr. Jain/his office is not only reliable, but good quality - I get the answers to questions I want without getting frustrated. He has an extensive knowledge base in pharmaceuticals as well and can easily explain interactions and purposes for a specific regimen of medications. He is honest and is the most helpful healthcare provider I have come across. The only downfall is he is extremely thorough - as a result, there are times where he is running late, but I do not mind because I know that he would do the same for me.

I have been seeing Dr. Jain for many years. He has helped me through many life experiences and there isn't anything that I have asked him that he could not have answered. His pharmocolgy skills are excellent and if I have an emergency he will always make time to see me. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Jain was my psychiatrist when I was hospitalized. I agree with the person below me. He is very knowledgeable in his field and explained everything to me without my needing to ask him. He listened to everything I had to say and was always very helpful. Doctors were always very rushed at the hospital because they had to see so many patients but he didn't hurry off to see someone else until he made sure I didn't have any other questions. Also, he managed to help me more than any of the other doctors I've seen even though I was only in the hospital for a limited period of time. I would recommend him to anyone.

I have seen five different psychiatrists, and Dr. Jain's understanding of psychopharmacology is extremely helpful. He truly understands how medications affect the body and works with you to coordinate the right combination of medicine. He may appear to be blunt, but he has worked in many different settings in psychiatry and can easily get a feel for someone's condition from the moment you walk in the door. He was the first doctor who took the time to get an accurate history from me - MY ACCOUNT - not others. If you ask him for an explanation of why he thinks a specific medicine may help you, he will take the time to explain it to you, as well as how your medications interact. He has experience in teaching psychiatry at UConn, as well as doing fellowships at Cornell and another at New York Hospital I believe - the previous rating had indicated no training in the USA and that is simply not the case, his training in the United States is extensive.

This doctor has no training or residency experience in the United States and his behavior reflects it. He purposely gave me a prescription that my insurance did not cover when I was released from the hospital. I had been switched to a new psychiatrist but did not have an appointment with him for over a month. Dr. Jain knew how the system functioned, yet he would not prescribe a prescription that Medicaid covered. As a result, I could have went off my meds directly after having a relapse and being hospitalized for two weeks. I do not believe he cares about his patients or their welfare. He was very upset with me because my family wrote a complaint about him to the hospital administrator.
