Don't know where all the good reviews come from. Her staff is downright abusive, to the point where it's completely unacceptable, unprofessional and uncalled for. No one should be subject to that. In addition they were gatekeeping my health information, accusing me of not being able to afford a follow up appointment (despite telling them I was in the ER because my vision loss wasn't my only symptom, and trying to explain to them that they have MRIs and neurologists there, and that I would come to my already scheduled follow up for tomorrow either way). Then they accused me of not telling the optometrist that I had other symptoms and that I was lying. When I did, apparently she just didn't write it down in her notes (and I have proof that I did, btw).

This was a receptionist who constantly says "well I don't know, I'm not an eye doctor!!! And how should I know, I wasn't there when you spoke to her!!!" Okay, then why are you accusing me of lying?

Keep in mind I kept calm and was nice to her the whole time, even though she was being extremely vicious. This has happened multiple times with multiple phone calls and I'm a new patient.

I also said the optometrist mentioned something about investigating the root cause and other issues I was having. She immediately attacked me saying that impossible, optometrists can't do that! And I was like, ok.... She told me something about a blood test.

Again keep in mind that the entire time I was calm and didn't accuse them of anything, I only called to request extra info that was not given to me about my eyesight, as requested by the ER doctor. I wasn't even told a diagnosis or anything.

As for the doctor herself, it seems she collaborates with the receptionists to lie to people, and they truly could not give less of a damn about you. They only care about maximizing their profit. She also rushes you out at the end before she even finishes talking to you, and if you have any questions you have to ask them in front of everyone (the abusive receptionists) with zero privacy. I also heard her raise her voice towards another patient while she was doing his exam.

Will definitely never come back.

Dr. Polonenko is a dream come true! She and her staff are everything you could ever wish for in a healthcare team. Her office is beautiful and spacious as well as clean and up to COVID-19 standards of practice, her staff are extremely helpful and kind, and Dr. Polonenko is amazing! She is so knowledgable in her field and is so approachable and understanding. I have nothing but good things to say about the service I received and the overall experience.
