I had a visit with him for a consultation regarding TED. I was first taken back for a visual field test by a medical assistant. The room and carpet were dirty and had a vacuum hanging in the room. The assistant claimed that it was a room where they had their old vision machine. Which I do not believe. It looked more like a cleaning room. The visual field test was like a VR machine, so I do not understand why the exam could not have been done in an actual exam room. When the test was done, the assistant was not even in the room. I had to wait five minutes for her to come back into the room. As for the doctor, he brushed me off. He showed implicit bias. He said I had glaucoma and not TED. He said and I quote: " You don't look like a person who has Thyroid Eye Disease". He also said that I did not have proptosis. The MRI and the eye measurements showed otherwise. Yet, when I questioned why I had pain during eye movement and pain behind my eye socket, and what other conditions could cause it outside of TED, he could not provide me with an answer. He could not or rather would not figure out the reason why I had the pain during eye movement. Glaucoma does not cause pain during eye movement or behind the sockets. Do not go to him unless you want to waste your time and money.
