I saw Dr. Hoffman when I was 17, I found him rude and condescending. He went out of his way to share confidential information with my parents (“did you know your daughter smokes?”), when I immediately told him that was inappropriate to share he said it was his clinic, his rules, and he considered my parents his clients and not me. He also failed to mention or consider the medication he prescribed for me interacted with birth control. I got pregnant shortly after despite being diligent with the pill for four years. My fiancé and I love our now 5 year old daughter more than anything but as I am now a third year nursing student and do my own medication research I can’t help but feel he was negligent in managing my medications as a 17 year old girl. Talk about major oops.

I would like to announce that I have fully retired from the practice of medicine and I would like to thank all of my patients over the years. From my initial training in internal medicine at the University of Toronto, to my fellowships in critical care medicine/respiratory and sleep medicine, I have done my utmost over the years to help all of my patients. I know from the comments, not everybody liked me and I am very sorry if that was the case but please understand that I did my very best.

It is interesting being a physician - one really never knows what the career is going to be like until you are really well and truly into it. I never realized that practicing medicine for much of my career would involve 80-100 hour weeks due to extreme physician shortages everywhere.

But it was all well worth it because over the years, I knew that I was able to help thousands of patients who were critically ill, had respiratory illnesses or sleep disorders and I am glad I was there for you.

Please take care of everybody and stay safe. I have reinvent myself as a fine art photographer, custom picture framer and publisher/bookbinder. Certainly much less stressful than practicing medicine.

I thought he was very nice and knowledgable at first. However, the visit, with every question I had for him, he acted as though I was challenging his knowledge, rather than trying to answer my question. Very ego.

Ignorant and assumptive at best, incompetent and dangerous at worst. I would severely damage my health if I took the medication he prescribed to me without, apparantly, bothering to check my chart for contraindications. F*** this joker.

I have been seeing Dr Hoffman for a couple of years now. He has always been very helpful. I have multiple issues on top of sleep apnea, he was always willing to listen and give suggestions to take back to your gp regarding different types of specialists that may be able to help. He has always helped often going above and beyond to help me. I can't say enough good things about him. Having dealt with many different specialist dr I can say he is one of the most caring I have ever been too.

Horrible doctor, does not know what he is talking about.....very full of himself. Sent letter to my doctor making another professional look bad when it was his fault. Extremely long (1+ year wait times). Did not listen to anything I had to say and did not explain what he was doing or what the goal of the treatment was.

Saw doctor Hoffman in 2010 for sleep disorder related to PTSD however misdiagnosed me and put me on medication for a year that I did not need. And with that medication that was for disorders not for what I have made things abnormally worse, pushed expensive tranquilizers on me which again I did not need. As well as taking away my licenses. Was not willing to retest me until a year and when I went back and was retested a new doctor found there was nothing wrong as Hoffman had diagnosed
