Ive gone to Dr. Metchler for 12 yrs. all they way back to his Lifetime health days. When going once a yr for paps, it was fine. When he opened his new practice it became unorganized and he became less caring. About 6 yrs ago I started getting test results in the mail that were not mine along with bills. Well trying ti figure out what was going on, my yearly came up. Well there, the nurse practitioner asked me way my chart said I was 56 (at the time I was 27). Needless to say there was another patient there with the same name. All the stuff I was getting was hers. Never once did anyone apologize to me! I swore I'd get a new doctor. Everything was fine for a couple yrs til this summer when I got pregnant. My first meeting with Metchler, I expressed my concern of having no symptoms. I thought it was a missed miscarriage. He told me I was lucky. 2 wks later I miscarried. He sent the wrong info to the hospital and I went through hell getting admitted. He showed up 30 mins late.

The staff are wonderful. I came from a horrible OBGYN, and to this office which is calm, polite, and nice to me. The doctor himself is the best doctor I've ever had, no matter what field. His knowledge about some things is not as great as I'd like, but he has people on his staff to make up for that shortfall. He is an -excellent- surgeon, and during my second c-section he fixed issues that I'd had with my previous doctor's c-section. He held me close, and held my hand while I was having the biggest panic attack ever in the OR. He berated overzealous nurses who were scaring me. He was there for me the whole time, and he still is. I wish that we could clone him and put the clones in other fields. He is wonderful. I trust him completely.

One of the very first things he said to me was, “Oh, thank you for not being fat!” The exam room walls are so thin that you hear EVERY thing that's said in the other rooms. Went for my first prenatal visit and left feeling discouraged. He was not pleasant at all. Did not answer my questions. Instead he handed me a printout F.A.Q. Made my pregnancy feel like a med cond. Next appt., he came in after the u/s wearing a t-shirt and shorts. He didn't bother to introduce himself to my hub. I think his words to us were, “It’s my day off, but here I am!” Then, he very callously stated, “I have bad news… it looks like you’ve miscarried.” My heart was shattered and I was confused. He didn’t explain anything to me. Then he said something about coming back in a week for another u/s. At first, he was certain that I miscarried and then he didn’t seem so sure. I called a different Dr. the next day and had another u/s. This Dr. explained everything she saw, what I could expect, and my options were.

Dr. Mechtler is extremely kind and spent a lot of time with me. He is very understanding, and is very fatherly. The ladies in the office and the nurses were nice as well. The office is nicely decorated and the rooms are clean. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. The doctor is on the conservative side (see another poster's note below) so this would probably be a better practice for married ladies/single girls who are not promiscuous. I have only used the dr for gyn services, not ob. I will definitely be going to him as long as he practices!

I was very surprised with the lack of professionalism the staff shows at this office. I waited for an hour befor even being called into a room. The nurses seem to have a no knowledge of HIPPA and patient confidentiality. I was not pleased with the services provided at this office and would never recommend anyone to go here!

Dr. Marchetti successfully performed an urgent surgery on me. He has been my gyn ever since and I have recommended him to others and would continue to do so.

I absolutely would not recommend Dr. Stephen Mechtler. He was very misleading. As a professional I feel he lacks facts that are important to the patient. During my initial consult he said yes to all my requests regarding childbirth. That was not the case at 36 weeks pregant he decided to change his mind . He truly ignored my concerns. I think he lacks professional judgement and truly does not care about anything but malpractice and preventing a lawsuit. Furthermore, I found his nursing staff to lack education. (gave misreading in blood pressure etc.) If you are looking for a sincere knowledgeable physician this would not be my recommendation.

The best doctor I ever had, even calls you at home with test results. Even when I was out of state. Very good bed-side manner. Never too busy to sit and talk with you.
