Always late carries to much on his plate running the abbotsford system of mental health he needs to hire some help. Timing is everything on the flip side Im very happy with him he says im his favourite patient but he says that to alot of patients lol. I definetly need his help even though I fight with him all the time over meds keeps me disciplined and keeps me in line so i dont get out of hand. Truely an inspiration kept me stable for 3 yearsvwith the help of ECT and Adderall And Clopixol injections

Excellent doctor gives great advice and knows how to listen. He is patient on time and is thoughtful and considerate of the struggles I've had and continue to have. Never felt dismissed or disregarded.

Well now, what to say of my first and what seems to be last visit with the doctor. It did seem like IF there was any problems with the two Rx he is sending to my pharmacy then I can contact his office. Meeting seemed kinda brief to me, but my problems (in my mind) go very deep, so that fast whipping out of the Rx pad was kinda strange. Now to be fair, I have really bad trust issues...and BELEIVE others should have as well, I mean think of it, one swipe of his pen and/or a phone call, your committed into a phsc ward. And Like Peter Parker's (aka Spiderman) Grandfather in the movie said, with GREAT powers, comes GREAT responsibility!! so was he good...well now this is the question. I mean REALLY...I was online with him for 30+min...Ya'll know it takes about 1.5yrs to get to KNOW somebody after they move in with you, or you them...your moods, mostly what you like. so 30min is NOT very long at all if you think about it!!
NOW the for sure issue I have is that I don't think I was ever GIVEN a choice in the virtual meeting or not. I mean what if I couldn't chat openly? Or in my case, I have "ears" around and that I had to be quieter then normal. I mean I had a headset on so anyone listening would only get half the conversation anyways...BUT no one asked if it was ok...I guess is my point. Like, has it become a world of not to tell unless asked? or at least in my small bubble.. anyways, I'm getting to the end of my rope with these people. and yes, I have seen one other in the not so distant past, and although he seemed to want to help, he got frustrated with my trust issues. I mean MAYBE it is just me...but having a bad trust issue IS a issue that sometimes can be helped...right?
Sincerely,
Lost in DEEP thought
P.S. the one guy I did chat to from the "office" was a bit helpful in a simple question or two about the appointment, BUT was VERY stern about letting me know about the cancelation fee...but I really can see why, (in todays world)
The Doctor was just a few min late, so didn't mind in the least. Like Five Min. is fine, and up to 10 with a apology, and after that a explanation maybe along with...an apology!! I mean they have standard TIP amounts in a lot of places...why not a unwritten late policy for "professionals" I mean I believe also that being on time is part of a lot of occupations!! mine included :-)

Dr. Khattak was very easy to speak to and listened to everything I had to say. He has managed my meds now so that I'm feeling much less affected by my illness. I"d have to say he's a knowledgeable doctor who takes the extra time to help when help is desperately needed. He is direct and I suppose some people don't appreciate direct but I appreciate any psychiatrist who is direct. I would say if you get Dr. Khattak as a dr you are in good hands and very lucky.

Terrible doctor, why is he still employed working as a doctor. Does fraser health not care about patients. Letting this doctor see patients is torture because he makes everyone's problems worse. Dr khattak has also been charged and in the news, Google his name.

He is a mean man that isn't cut out for this line of work. He has no empathy and no listening skills. He is very heavy handed with the meds and likes to make u in to a vegetable. He won't listen to any concerns or belive you about the side effects because he is the professional and u are mentally ill. After several emerg run ins with him and one psyc ward stay, I've made sure to do everything in my power to never get him again. Lol, is it curing a person if they adapt their behaviours and words so they never get sectioned under the Mental Health Act again, even if they still feel the same on the inside or even worse, than before they met the Dr?

Went once and was so put off by his lack of preparation & presence that I never bothered to follow up again. I was referred to him by my GP via CureMD last year. First, I wish the staff had done a better job of trying to get a hold of me the first time they tried to book an appointment. I was going through high anxiety/depression at the time and had completely shut off. The only message left by the staff was "This is for so and so, call us back at..." Now, it must have been a few weeks since I went to see my GP and I didn't recognize the name of the centre and the person who left the message didn't say what the phone call was about. When I called back, I was put on hold for so long I honestly thought the centre was a scammer and didn't bother calling back again.

When I went back to my GP, she asked if I had heard back from the psychiatrist and then I realized that the centre which had called me before was connected to that. I had to be referred again 'cause they only try once and then close the file. I missed the second referral call again but luckily, I called back and managed to catch a staff person after hours who was willing to re-open my file to book an appointment.

I was asked to fill a long intake form which I took the time to fill out and be detailed. Dr. Khattak was late and clearly hadn't read my intake form because he asked questions that I had already answered. The whole time, he seemed distracted and wouldn't look me in the eye. I was relatively okay mentally during that appointment but I can't imagine how someone who is suicidal would feel.

The only positive I can say is that he acknowledged that the self-diagnosis I had for myself was most likely correct and that I also needed to include other things besides medication into helping my mental health (ie. exercise, seeing a therapist). He even recommended a book "Mind Over Mood" to check out.

However, zero follow-up plan and the meds I took really didn't help with my mood issues. While I appreciated his biopsychosocial approach and the fact he acknowledged that major stress attributed to my mood issues, I think he lacks the empathy, presence and professionalism to help people with severe mental health issues heal.

Dr Abid khattak does not care about his patients along with his staff. Fraser health needs to investigate his practice before patients get hurt. He'll close a file when the patients family calls him out on his nonsense, so he doesn't need to deal with the damage he caused.

Terrible experience with this doctor. Did not listen, took phone calls during visit and lost track of what had been said. Interrupted, drew conclusions without seeking to understand and was not responsive when I had questions or needed clarification. Came across as arrogant and it was as if he reads a chart, develops pre-conceived notions and do the actual appointment time does not matter - he’s decided how to handle something. Honestly I have never met a worse for tor or human being in terms of caring for others.

Absolutely ATROCIOUS experience with this “dr”. Was having a mental health crisis at the time and he tells me to “Stop crying, you are a grown man!”, and then looks at the PLN and says “I cannot talk with this patient when they are like this.” Completely lacks compassion and tact. Horrible Psychiatrist, I felt loads worse after each interaction with him. Steer CLEAR.
