Men with Low T avoid this ARROGANT, terrible doctor!!

I had been receiving testosterone replacement for several years under a different doctor in the same office (until he retired) with great results. I was in peak condition—healthy, active, motivated, productive and mentally focused. By the time Dr. Laney was through with me a few months after I started seeing him, I had gained more than 20 pounds, I was sluggish, unmotivated, had little strength and was having difficulty focusing enough mentally to do even my job.

Because I had been taking a higher than average dose, I was being monitored regularly, and my lab results were always perfect. My T level was high, but still within normal range—of the independent national labs.

When I transferred to Dr. Laney, he didn’t even so much as bother to ask me how I felt; he looked at the T level and immediately slashed my dosage in half--and continued cut it in half after each round of lab work, which he ordered every three or four weeks--in spite of the fact that the lab results were always perfect. (I later learned that St. Luke’s uses its own lab and sets its own scale, which, at least for T levels is much lower than any of the large independent testing labs.)

His only goal was to force my T level down to the number St. Luke’s scale said it should be “for a man my age.” Was this medicine by CYA? It sure appeared that way. I finally refused to be treated by him when he had cut my dose by close to 85%.

He was either unwilling or unable to answer my questions, which had to be relayed through his nurse—even my questions about his background and his experience treating men with low T would never be answered.

I saw Dr. Laney and felt he did not care to listen to one thing I had to say to him regarding my health and past medical history. I transferred to he care after my physician left the practice. Very unimpressed!

One of the new generation of doctors. Get you in get you out as fast as he can. Very short on any explaining things. Brusk and at times very harried so you get the same kind of treatment even if you've been waiting 45 minutes past your appointment time. VERY test happy! Always lab and other tests that start to eat up your insurance to the point that you have to start paying out of your own pocket. Lots of changing meds and you end up throwing away unused meds that you've PAID for. Wasteful of my time and money. This just my take on the service I received. Not pleased and have moved to a different doctor at a different hospital.
