If you are seeing this doctor in regards to suspected endometriosis pain, don’t. With all the research and highlights on how entomologists affects women’s lives this doctor either doesn’t keep up with research or diagnostic methods or just flat out doesn’t care. Dismissed the pain as nothing despite my history of endometriosis and previous surgeries 10 years ago. I spent the next 4 months with excruciating pain and bleeding finally seeing a general surgeon who has referred me to another gyno with clear endo lesions that will need surgery.

Two years ago I was referred to this man because I made the choice to want my tubes tied at age 23. He pretty much gave me all the birth control options and when I said I don’t want kids at all he just brushed it off. He also tried to tell me there are many cases where period pain increases after getting the tubes removed to which my family doctor said thats not true in the slightest. After I saw him he referred me for a pelvic ultrasound. After that radio silence. This man still hasn’t contacted me about my results. It’s been two years since my ultrasound. If I could give him a 0 I would. If you’re a young woman wanting your tubes removed DO NOT USE THIS MAN

Not an endometriosis doctor. Saw him in the emergency room after another doctor and 3 nurses told me I would have to be put under to have my iud removed. He comes in the room ready to just rip it out without any medication and I told him no and he told me to go home.

This dr knew I have large babies and said he would schedule induction. Almost 42 weeks pregnant, I finally got in! So thankful it was a different OB on call that got me in and also used a different induction method. I was told if he went ahead with induction that was planned that I would have ended up with a prolapse uterus and need to be wheeled right into emergency csection. I personally wouldn't trust him as a OB.

He was the dr I had to deliver my daughter. I had severe pain during exams and he would make fun of me saying “oh you’re gunna need an epidural for sure”, I also had some worrying symptoms like my whole body breaking out in hives more than once and he just sort of shrugged me off. Well it turns out I have severe endometriosis hence the pain, I don’t understand why he never noticed it in any ultrasounds etc. Because that’s where my current dr first noticed— and he’s not even a gyno. Thankfully my daughter was born healthy, but after the fact on my 6 week visit he once again shrugged me off when I said I was having pain down there, turns out it was endometriosis, took me an extra 3 years to have a dr finally listen & get diagnosed. Why is it so hard for drs to believe you or not treat you like a joke when you have pain— all I’m asking for is some perceptiveness of others pain and symptoms. Do not recommend him if you have any potential health problems intertwined while pregnant.

My second pregnancy was high risk, and he took it very seriously. His bedside manner is reserved and straightforward, but never hesitated to listen and answer my questions fully. Never pushed me into invasive procedures like a c section. Had baby naturally and just before my due date, at a very good weight :)

This is my first pregnancy and we are expecting twins! Dr Akintola has been incredible throughout this journey. He is calm, patient and takes time to talk about options and explain medical reasoning for various procedures. He is thorough and seeks the assistance of additional specialists and his colleges when needed. I highly recommend him!

Very disappointed... I lost a pregnancy and a large part of my fertility.. he refused to acknowledge my concerns or answer my questions. He was condescending and rude. I cannot say he is unknowledgeable, because he isnt.. but he only cares about viable pregnancies... not the woman left broken after a fetal demise or the follow up of that situation. Discussions were short answered, harsh and rude. Refused to discuss test results with me, what information was shared was completely different from the copy of final reports I requested copies of. Overall left me feeling more upset every time I saw him. I was referred to him, and I will refuse to be his patient in the future.
