Dr. V is kind and compassionate doctor. she takes the time to listen to what you are saying. she doesn't prescribe medication with out trying other methods first.

Long ago, my late father, a gentle and well-respected physician, would mention "mental shampoos" to those patients in need. Meaning, there was never any stigma in seeking the services of a mental health professional, if one needed to understand behaviours, or to heal a psychological wound, just like one would seek a specialist for a specific physical ailment.

For years, I tried to find a compatible professional, in order to better understand an accumulation of root issues, secondary physical effects (resulting from an 8-year overdose of prescribed thyroxin), and mental 'scrambling' (after a rogue bus driver crashed into my driver's side). But that professional in whom I could fully trust and gain a sense of progress seemed elusive.

In time, I became more vulnerable; the clock was ticking for that mental shampoo. My new family physician recommended Dr. V., who prefers patients willing to invest the time and thought process in the journey.

In Dr. V., I found a gentle and supportive guide. Her quiet personality, her professional demeanor, her high-functioning background, and her obvious intelligence and common sense clicked with me. I felt I could express myself without reservation. Over the next 18 months, our "talk therapy" broached several areas. We would meet once every 6-8 weeks (more frequently at the start or during an infrequent bout of anxiety). In so doing, I gained better tools to identify issues and to clean my 'sewer pipes' of long-held "bruises", stress points and anxieties, their cumulative effect having negatively contributed to my overall health (and memory). Little by little, I became stronger. In time, I was ready to stand on my own two feet, knowing that I could return if I needed to. Dr. V. is an exceptionally fine physician and human being. I am so grateful.

I have been seeing Dr. Veresezan for a number of years for generalized anxiety disorder and associated depression. I cannot verbalize in words how thankful I am to be under the care of a doctor who thinks outside the box. Although she does prescribe necessary medication, she also suggests other non-medicinal means of helping oneself. She has taught me how to enjoy the simplicity of life and to be more accepting of my shortcomings. She constantly reminds me to be patient with myself. Dr. Veresezan is very professional in her counselling but also can empathize with you. She is extremely mindful of what you are stating and genuinely tries to understand your thoughts and feelings. At no time, do I feel that I am ridiculed or brushed off. I am extremely fortunate to be under the care of this rare and caring doctor.

It was a very lucky day for me when I was referred to Dr. V.. She is a very low key, sweet lady who offers gentle persuasion and congratulates me on even the smallest of victories. She never tires of trying to find just the right medications for my multiple mental health issues. I don't know if I would still be alive if it weren't for Dr. Veresezan.
