Doctor performed a colonoscopy on my mother several years ago. He removed a polyp. A few days later she began hemorrhaging. She was admitted to ICU directly from the ER and required 5 pints of blood. He had failed to post information about the procedure in the hospital database. So the hospital didn't have the correct data and could not reach him.

Incompetent. 75 year old presented with extreme lack of appetite, bloating, unexplained weight loss for 6 mo and abdominal pain. Dr. did an endoscopy with stomach biopsies which were negative for his suspicion of linitis plastica or lymphoma but biopsies were negative and every follow up scope he would say it was "worrisome and just didn't know what's causing that if not stomach cancer". 2nd scope and biopsy, he swore he didn't do another biopsy until asked to check his records and casually said they are negative. He decided it was pyloric stenosis and scheduled monthly dialtion/endoscopies. NEVER suggested a full GI exam/colonoscopy or other diagnostic testing. After 5 months got a 2nd opinion, ER visit and CT due to declining health and was severely dehydrated, severe colon structures and malignant ascites and dx'd with advanced colon cancer with peritoneal carcinamatosis.
When asked office to fax medical records to GI for another opinion they would only do a "patient request" but not a "doctor referral" and only faxed 2 pages of poor quality. New GI immediately knew we had an incorrect dx and started process of a dx.
Incompetence cost 5-6 months and a poor prognosis.

Dr. Lackey is very caring and very knowledgeable. He takes his time when talking to me and explains things to me in a non-alarming way. He is gentle and truly cares about my health. He knows I'm a scaredy cat and has a very calming manner. Dr. Lackey's office staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. Susie is just precious and Sherry is a terrific nurse. I would highly recommend Dr. Lackey! He has saved me more than once.

I liked him in the beginning, but after almost 2 years and a near death experience, I have to say, he gave up on me. Don't go to him. Find someone who will help you.

Something was wrong with Dr. Lackey the day I was in. He kept nodding off as someone with narcolepsy, offered absolutely no professional opinion on my condition, (gallstones shown on previous imaging)...just seemingly was not present. I assumed the active patient roll, trying to get any information that would be of value to me, but it was not to be. At the end of the visit, he said "So you want to schedule a colonoscopy while you're here?" (Not hardly!)

Dr. Lackey is an amazing man. In few words, he saved my life. His nurse, Sherry is also amazing. And his staff is courteous and friendly. His bedside manner is a little different, but the man knows his stuff! He helped me get through some difficult times and has been my advocate through some trying issues with my health. Dr. Lackey is highly recommended in the medical professional world and that's why I chose him. He will get you answers and won't stop until you and he are both satisfied. Go to him! You will not be disappointed!

Courteous staff. Doctor was rough during exam and I actually woke up during exam from the pain inflicted. Had exams elsewhere and never experienced pain. Doctor seemed indifferent during follow up. Cannot recommend.
