I had a terrible experience with this Doctor, he is arrogant and has terrible bedside manners. When my husband had to have a surgery, his name was brought up and I immediately recommended that we find another surgeon because of my experience with him. I made a formal complaint to the hospital regarding how I was treated.

Dr. BrIan Spivack is a good surgeon with a God complex. He's good but not as great as he feels he is. His smug and cocky attitude is BEYOND belief. How many doctors would tell their patients they can return to work a day after having an emergency appendectomy. He needs to see things from the other side of the chair or hospital bed. I would NEVER EVERYTHING recommend this man to anyone!!!!!!!

WARNING! He was not helpful or successful in my surgery, which I had to have redone. He did not listen to my post op concerns which turns out I was right once I was opened up again. A friend of mine was turned away saying he was fine and found out he had lots of damage and needed surgery. Mistake after mistake, along with a smug, cocky attitude is not a good mix you want when being opened up and under their care. There are many other options out there. Look in Santa Monica for a Dr. Hutchinson if you want a second opinion and a trustworthy, professional, knowledable man.

This doctor is excellent. He fixed my hiatal hernia and now I don't have any reflux. I am off of heartburn medicines. He is very nice and professional. The girls in the office are wonderful. I would recommend him to anyone.

This is Surgeon is not helpful and is not up to date on current breast cancer treatments. I was afraid after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer so I asked him for a radical mastectomy. He stated " oh that's easier than a lumpectomy" and reffed be directly to the plastic surgeon. He did not attempt to calm me down discuss or discuss my options. If you have breast cancer please seek a second opinion. I later found via my second opinion that I did not require a mastectomy nor did I need to have a bilateral lymph node removal. By the way his methods are a lease 5 years behind current research.
