Biography
Dr. Nita Patel is a board certified Dermatologist and founder of Advance Dermatology & Laser Medical Center, Inc. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1987. Dr. Patel graduated from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 1991 and completed her dermatology residency at the UCLA and VA West Los Angeles Medical Centers in 1995. Dr. Patel is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and has extensive experience in general dermatology, skin cancer surgery, cosmetic procedures and lasers. She is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the David School of Medicine at UCLA and teaches dermatology residents, rotating residents and medical students on a volunteer basis. Dr. Patel is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She has received a Board Certificate in Laser Surgery and Medicine and is a Member of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.

I went to get filler for my marionette lines. Rather than inject filler into the lines as other doctors do, she put three tiny injections into each of my temples. It looked like three pimples, although she told me it would absorb, and it hurt, because it was right on my bone. It made absolutely no change in my marionette lines. She told me I needed to get more injections in my temples to puff them out enough to change the lines on my lower face, but no number of injections there would affect them. The charge was $2000!! For nothing. A few days later I went to my old cosmetic surgeon in Oceanside (and Carlsbad). When I showed him what she had done he just shook his head no. He injected the same filler she used into both of my marionette lines, then rubbed the area to smooth it out. The charge - $650 - about ONE THIRD of what Dr. Patel charged, or $1350 less!! And she didn't even come close to addressing the problem. She ignored my requests for restitution.
