Even though he instructed that my father's dementia had progressed to a point where no more treatment was going to be helpful and even though he stated that my father should be placed in memory care, he would not sign a form stating that my father could no longer make financial decisions. His assistant advised us to get another diagnosis from a psychiatrist. Since my father is currently in a memory care facility and non-ambulatory, taking him to a psychiatrist would be difficult and possibly harmful to my father. We found Dr. Varghese to be dismissive and non-sensical.
