Dr. Harris quicky found a serious problem that was missed by another opthamologist the previous week. He arranged for me to be seen by an expert retinologist nearby within an hour. His services have always been of the highest caliber. I highly recommend him.

I have going to Dr. Harris for many years. That's not to say I haven't gone to other Ophthalmologist as well. I can say, without reservation, that he is the most knowledgeable Dr in this field that I have encountered. Additionally, he identified a condition I have which predisposes me to Glaucoma. No other Dr had ever mentioned this...leading me to believe that they did not understand the condition. As time went on I did in fact develop Glaucoma. Also, I believe there is another Dr. Michael Harris in the area. Be sure not to mix the two up.

My appt. was for an exam and "topography". I handed him a list of my questions, whereupon he said he had not expected to answer any questions and left me sitting in the dark for 20 minutes while he left to attend to another patient. When he returned, he had me look at a charge with which I had great difficulty. I asked what could be done to improve my vision. His comment was that maybe I needed new glasses, but did not offer an eye refraction. I told him that a report I got from the retinologist and which had been sent to him with a copy to me had suggested he discuss low vision aids with me. He looked bewildered then said he thoought St. Barnabas had a low vision center, which turned out not be true. Eventually, his receptionist gave me a name of one in Denville.
