Had 2 cervical discs, C-5 and C-6, fused ten weeks ago and pain in upper back and down arm immediately disappeared. During recovery however, a non-related problem presented itself in the very upper reaches of the neck and appear to be emanating from a problem with C-2, C-3 and C-4 - it seems as if my spine has worn out after all of these years. Dr. Garden is aggressively pursuing alternatives to surgery and is very knowledgeable of several. Although we have not resolved the issue, I wanted to respond to the individual who implied that Dr. Garden was inaccessible and dismissive - nothing could be further from the truth. He has been available whenever needed (including Sunday) and always seems to fit me into his schedule when needed. He takes significant time with me, first to understand my symptoms and second to explain treatment options. He and his staff go out of their way to insure I am able to manage my pain successfully. Nothing but positives for me.

Injured back severely. Advised to receive epidural injection. Pain continued. Received facet joint injections, no help. Suffered in pain. No sympathy. Needed to travel a lot so getting timely appointments was difficult. Felt Dr. was unsypathetic to pain and to discomfort I was experiencing based on his review of X-rays and MRI. Had major injury on the other side one day where pain was all the way down my leg. When Dr was contacted, he returned call eating something and prescribed nothing for pain. Finally discussed "exploratory surgery" after 2 more epidurals. Felt this was a poor answer with unclear results. Saw another Dr who immediately diagnosed issue, 2 herniations with one herniation pressing on the spinal column, via 2 MRI's taken in 10 months. Had surgery 1 week later. Feel better now. Would not recommend.

Dr. Garden is the best anyone could ever ask for. Not only is he up to date on all the latest procedures but his bedside manner is amazing. He truly makes you feel like you are his sole patient. This is the kind of man and Dr. that will call you whenever / wherever if you have an immediate issue. This includes while he is home eating dinner or on vacation. (It's sad that in this day and age, this is unheard of not only in a regular GP but a surgeon?; amazing) I must add to this that he has performed surgery on my cervical spine 4 times and I am here and healthy.
