The core of a doctor patient relationship should be communication. Unfortunately his 'bedside manner' left me feeling patronized. My VERY FIRST VISIT... Was filled with him not allowing me to speak, dismissing my questions and concerns as unimportant, and in one case nonexistent even! For example, when I told Dr. Swanson that I felt sick and could taste sick in my throat, his reply to this was..."No you can't." Then said it was just allergies. After being dismissed completely ... I was prescribed more of a controlled medication I already had from another doctor...Dr. Swanson didn't even ask me how many pills of my other prescription from my other doctor I had left, before prescribing me 30 more pills... which I will most definitely NOT be filling! He assumed I wanted his help in treating my anxiety when my anxiety is already being treated by a doctor I trust already. He tried to make it feel as if I really had no other options...without ANY questions as to my opinion on the subject, he attempted to change my treatment plan altogether with a new medication! Then told me if I wanted to continue receiving those medications I would need to see a psych doctor and get it from them...all along I'm thinking... OR, I can just continue recieving my anxiety treatment from my OB Who I trust and have a long built relationship with....His first words were a string of what he wanted to change about me and not what I needed from him...BIG RED LIGHT!!! It is for these reasons I have decided to continue looking for a Primary Care Physician...

I just wanted to make a positive comment about our family doctor whom has taken care of my children since they were babies. Now my children are strong men in the United StatesAir Force, and wouldn't be there without Doctor Swanson's great care all those years. So THANK YOU and your staff. We love you and your staff.

Like many said before, I went in to see him and all he did was prescribe drugs to treat symptoms, never trying to figure out the underlying cause. He is nothing more than an urgent care doctor, and not a good one at that. If you are looking for an actual family physician that gets to know you, DO NOT go to Dr. Swanson.

It's a hassle changing doctors, which is why I have put up with swansons indifference and poor medical care for too long. The last time I was there, he kept me waiting 25 minutes past my appoinment, and I WAS THE ONLY PATIENT in the building. I overheard him chatting with a family friend, a staff memeber a sale girl. He saw me for less than 5 minutes and charged my insureance company 140.00 for the visit. He is definately in it for the money, not out of concern for his patients. His staff is rude, and actually has charged my debitcard for a co-pay of an appointment my son was too late for to keep. Hello! He kept ME waitting for over 40 minutes once...where's my $30.00???

Went to see Dr. Swanson 3 or 4 years ago. I was not impressed. My opinion was that his history taking was robotic, incomplete and unimaginative and that what meager physical exam was perfunctory at best and did not well represent his training. He did not suggest a follow up appointment, which I now assess in retrospect as a blessing. I am a retired medical professional and my assessment took into consideration my own experience in the field. I will not go back. I suspect that the economic pressures of maintaining a practice are such that the aspect of a thorough initial H&P (History and Physical) for a new patient is now considered to be obsolete. I may well have caught him on a "bad day", I don't know. First impressions are important and I am determined that my frist impression with this doctor will be my last.

My 9 year old grandson has been seeing Dr. Swanson since birth. We have adopted him and because of several mental health issues, he is on Medicaid. He sees Dr. Swanson once a year. When trying to make an appointment twice, the nurse who answered the phone was extremely rude and said he no longer takes medicaid and we could not make an appointment. When asked to speak to Dr. Swanson, she informed he he was way too busy and suggested I find another doctor! HOW RUDE!!! We have helped Dr. Swanson with referrals to special doctors and counselors for his patients with the same issues as our grandson. I guess I will have to actually walk into their office to speak to Dr. Swanson since the office help will not get a message to him.

Dr. Swanson is an awesome doctor I have suffered from several long term illnesses including migraines in which he has always been very helpful in managing my pain. He is never in a hurry when I am seen and pays close attention to my symptoms. Give him a chance he is well worth it. I have written Directors before about bad doctors and nurses and this is not one of them.

This doctor is unbelievably unknowledgeable. The staff is beyond rude, there is a child constantly in the office (behind the counter). When seen for a sore throat, I was given allergy medicine, and sent home with the recommendation of mucinex D. I was not given a culture or anything beyond a look down my throat, and the doctor did say "they were trying to get out early for the weekend." I had no mucus! I was diagnosed with strep throat the next day at urgent care. When my husband went to become a regular patient we were charged outpatient fees for 2 of his visits, with no help whatsoever from the staff in solving the situation. They are rude, I will agree that Dr. Swanson talks to my chest and my chest only, and will never be going back. NEVER GO TO THIS DOCTOR!
