I had a torn UCL on my thumb. Two months later he performed the surgery. I read the longer you wait for the procedure the more opportunity for arthritis and other problems. I was told how much time passed did not matter and everything would be fine by his side kick Avery.. After the surgery when the cast finally came off my thumb had very little movement and all my other fingers stayed curved for a long time. My shoulder also became frozen for 7 months. I was doing physical therapy immediately after getting the cast off. I thought I would never play sports or go fishing again. When I went to see Kuang kuo he seemed angry at me. He forced my thumb in a range of motion it was not ready for. He acted like the problem was in my head. My physical therapist said that he was aware of this doctors lack of knowledge with post operation problems and he was not alone.
Years later... my thumb has a third of its range of motion.
My index finger is curved and has limited movement.
None of my fingers can be bent back from the joint where it meets the hand. No pushups or pushing with this hand.
I have Dupuytren's contracture in the palm of my hand.
My shoulder is now unfrozen but the right side of my body is noticeably weaker. The whole arm, shoulder and hand is weaker and arthritic, I have not played golf since this surgery.
Kuang kuo only performs flawless surgeries, so this must all be in my head.
I wouldn’t let him cut my fingernails!

Dr, Kuo is a soft spoken friendly surgeon with an excellent bedside manner. I broke my hand just behind my left pinky that would not set, it collapsed even with a cast. Dr Kuo informed me a couple pins to hold it in place would be needed. I couldn't lift or use my pinky finger, Dr Kuo told me he could give me back 99 percent use. Thanks to Dr Kuo after surgery I have at least 99 percent, I can hardly tell I had surgery from the stand point of using my finger and the physical appearance.. He was great from start to finish. I'd recommend him to my friends and family.!!

Dr. Kuo is gentle, compassionate, thorough and eager to help. His dedication and attitude are extremely comforting especially as I await surgery. He has treated many of my friends, all of which absolutely love him! I trust his competency level as he's repairing an injury that was previously mishandled by another local hand surgeon. I dread the day Dr. Kuo retires! He has undoubtedly found his calling in life. A brilliant doctor with a kind soul! I highly recommend Dr. Kuo!
