When Dr. Kuebker decided that he could not practice the detailed medicine he prefers and make a living while insurance payments declined (esp. Medicare), he made the difficult decision to go with MDVIP, dropping from around 2000 patients to a maximum of 600 (he has slightly over 300). The result is an expensive $1500. annual fee (only part of which he keeps) and a thorough examination (for each of my two examinations so far he spent over two hours talking to me). Patients can see him on short notice (and also other MDVIP doctors throughout the nation). I estimate that it takes him about 150 days (30 weeks) just for the health exams, and he doesn't hesitate to take Medicare. It's too bad that he lost about 1700 patients who liked or loved him (and that certainly doesn't mean he didn't care about him) but he can now support his family in a fiscally declining medical environment for family doctors and give careful, attentive care to the remainder. Good doctor but he has turned his back on his poorer patients.

I have not seen Dr. Kuebker. I am just commenting on hi practice. Dr. Kuebker runs a concierge practice now. He keeps 600 patients and they all pay $1500 for the right to see him and get a free physical. He makes $900,000 each year for 600 physicals. If he was concerned with pt. care, he would charge $150 to supplement the decrease in income he would incur. The $1500 only gets you the right to see him, you will still pay for every other visit just as you normally do and you will still need insurance just as you normally do. If you are wealthy, this is perfect for you. If you aren't, Dr. Kuebker doesn't care about you.

his staff is sub-par at best. they are difficult to get ahold of and never seem to have the information you want or need. while dr. kuebker himself is talented and kind, his support network leaves much to be desired. Also, he often seems too quick to refer to others, and never seems to have the answers himself.

I have been seeing Dr. Kuebker for 15 years now and he has been a wonderful guardian of my health. He never hesitates to refer me to a specialist or order appropriate tests. He is definitely one of the top docs and he is a rare find in today's medical world. He is both knowledgable and has a wonderful bedside manner. The only problem is he is usually running late and you have to sit in the waiting room a long time. Once you get in, he never rushes you and gives you the time you deserve. I see him like a good restaurant, worth the wait!
