Dr. Dua helped me reduce the number of medications I was on from another psychiatrist. My bloodwork is carefully monitored and she remembers what has been said at all my appointments. She may look disinterested but she can recall everything I’ve said. If she is running behind schedule, I remember that my care may have run her late for another patient.

She was a great help for me - I had struggled with depression and adhd. With the right medication, she helped put me on a path. I still struggle but nowhere near as much as before. Active Patient.

I was a teenager in the late 90s when she was treating me. I was in an abusive home, and rather than see that my parents were pathologizing me she participated in the abuse. She admitted me onto an adult ward where I was allowed to unknowingly socialize with a dangerous offender who later followed me when I asked to be transferred to an adolescent ward. I only found out as the nursing staff there asked about problems with another patient. She also told me that due to my depression I’d never make it through university. Well, I did. I made the deans list, and have gone on to have a very successful career in spite of her. With the help of a good therapist I have been able to process the trauma of this period, but she has no business treating adolescents.

My ex. sees this doctor and wishes he could get someone else. He says she's condescending, unfriendly and always seems bored/tired. She isn't doing what she can to create a good patient/doctor relationship and in mental health this is extremely important. He says that other patients in the waiting room say the same thing about her. Remember bad doctors get paid as much as good doctors, and you have a choice. Go to you family doctor and ask them to refer you to someone else. There are better doctors out there who will make you feel far better and provide you with the care you deserve . You are paying her wages with your taxes, so pay someone else instead.

She yawned the entire time and i watched her fall asleep several times. This was a sunday afternoon and admitted she had not been home since friday morning. She drove 30 mins from thw city to our facitity and then had to drive back. Scary thought when she was nodding off while being spoken to. She definitely could have fell asleep behind the wheel.

It appears my experience with Dr. Dua wasn't unique in terms of feeling my appointment was boring her. She seems to be over committed in her effort to help others. When it came to the point of actually nodding off and falling asleep while I was talking... this is quite extreme. Another concern I had was her indifference to some adverse side effects Imwas having. I approached her multiple times but she never suggested stopping it. I now have a extreme sensitivity (Parkinson's type symptoms) to many other medications and I believe this in part do to remaining on that one particular medication for so long. Dr. Dua is a very nice and pleasant person and I believe sincere in her practice. I think reducing her workload along with time management skills would be in her best interest.

Her punctuality is not the best, however, I know that she is rushing from patient to patient at the hospital and her other practice. She also teaches I believe. Or it could be spending extra time with me in a crisis that holds up the next appointment so I try to stay patient. Her knowledge is excellent and she manages a complex number of medications I was on before I met her as well as an overlap with several other health conditions (with my FP). Yes, I do notice she has looked tired but I suspect that those were days she perhaps skipped lunch to fit in appointments before heading back to the hospital. Having had other doctors before Dr. Dua, I am grateful for having her as a doctor.

Dr. Dua is an excellent doctor. I question many of the comments others have made her about her as she has always been helpful and extremely good at communicating with me
