This is my regular doctor. He has a good bedside manner, is pragmatic and thoughtful, and is not inclined to over-treat. I was amused by the negative review he got here from a person who obviously wanted a prescription written without even being examined. I think it's one of the ABCs of medicine that the doctor has to diagnose the patient's condition before writing prescriptions, and that the doctor cannot simply write whatever prescriptions the patients requests.

As a specialist that works with Dr. Van der werf, I can tell you all his patients love him. He is very caring, thorough. I think the other reviewer is out of line. He/She obviously has never even had an appointment with him. It is very poor practice to prescribe anything to anybody without a doctor-patient relationship. I think all the PCP's in Estes are excellent, but Guy stands out for sure.

We have found this doctor to be excellent! He is very helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to refer to a specialist when necessary.

I have been to many bad doctors in my life, unfortunately, and this clown is the absolute epitome of a QUACK! He is completely ignorant of legitimate medical treatments, and flat out LIED to me about the treatment that I need. He has not one shred of integrity or honesty about him. He knew I needed particular medications in order to stay alive, and REFUSED to let me refill the prescriptions he KNEW I need unless I came in to his office to give him money he knew I could not afford. Because of him and his greed, I could not afford to buy the prescriptions he knew I need, and he didn't care if I just drop dead without them. This idiot makes his money from ripping off poor people, and he has no conscience whatsoever. He does not care in the slightest about the wellfare of his patients, and you would be better off going to ANY other doctor, especially the ones not in Estes Park. This guy is purely EVIL and should be avoided at all costs if you care at all about your life and your health!
