Poor bedside manner for starters only got worse from there
Went in for for a simple arthroscopic clean up on my left ankle. Woke up in pain more than I expected.
Sent home only to be in constant pain for 4 weeks.
Long story short. Dr Cadden cut the artery to my foot. Had call in a vascular surgeon to repair it.
Now I have pain all the time. Can’t run. Hardly walk sometimes.
I understand people make mistakes but own it when you do.

Operation to resolve long standing foot ulcer.

I presented at a public hospital (emergency) with a foot ulcer under the head of my 5th metatarsal with possible osteomyelitis of the bone (MRI). I was assigned the care of a vascular surgeon and underwent debriding (on rejecting offers of amputation), wearing a VAC dressing for 3 weeks, the application of long term antibiotics via a pic line and the on-going wearing of an off loading boot. The ulcer/wound 24 x 24 mm cleared to a point but still had a way to go prior to fully closing - the metatarsal head could still be probed (12 weeks later).

Two options considered going forward:
Option 1 - fully casted (estimated 4 months) with restricted movement.
Option 2 - surgery from Dr Cadden to remove the 5th metatarsal head and lengthen the achilles tendon which was my preferred choice ( this was the fourth time dealing with infections from callouses and there was a need to minimise the risk of any repeat infections).

The results were amazing. The wound healed so fast - within weeks. The boot was retained only to protect the archilies (6 weeks).
I have had three operations with Dr Cadden over the years - for unusual and complex foot related issues and his skill and expertise is to be admired. All of my outcomes have been excellent and I could not have asked for more.

Big learning for me - where you have constant pressure that inhibits an ulcer/wound to heal on the underside of a foot, consider engaging a well renowned foot and ankle surgeon such as Dr Cadden who is specially trained to surgically correct the pressure source to enable healing. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll be back doing the things you love in no time.

Dr Cadden's assistant podiatrist Sanjay Parasher recommended Dr Cadden for foot surgery, but I chose another surgeon outside of Ramsay because Dr Cadden was unhelpful and has no bedside manner, it was an awkward experience. I've now had my procedure with the other surgeon and am healing. I heard I'm not alone in finding Dr Cadden a very awkward surgeon/man. I wish Sanjay gave me more options than just Dr Cadden and wasting my money but they work together and the recommendation was totally biased.

We were very disappointed with my husband's treatm by Dr Cadden. After waiting well over an hour for our appointment with no apology he gave us no hope of any improvement for my husbands drop foot. He sent us to get a very expensive splint. We were in and out of his surgery in less than 10 minutes. After this consultation we sought a second opinion and has had treatment. Myhusband is now walking straight and on the way to recovery. Our visit to Dr Cadden was a waste of time and money.

Dr Cadden completed a ligament transplant, ligament stabilisation and arthroscopic surgery on my ankle (basically he took one of my hamstring tendons and put it in my ankle). It has been over two years since the surgery and the results are excellent. After almost 20 years of continuously rolling my ankle (and often falling over) – my ankle is now very stable. The scarring from the operation is minimal and I have not rolled my ankle since. I am now playing indoor soccer twice a week, running and cycling.
Dr Cadden’s bedside manner is good too. One thing I noticed during my appointments was that he was not trying to rush me in and out. He stopped and fully listened to everything I had to say and was happy to answer all my questions. A quality not all doctors/specialists seem to have.

I recently had a consultation with Dr Cadden about my hammer toes. He was empathic, professional and very understanding of the challenges I am facing with regards to walking, pain and wearing shoes.

He was accomodating when it came to scheduling operation times and was positive with regards to rehabilitation afterwards.

I am glad I went to see him and wished I had seen him years ago.

I have suffered for years with a painful deformed ankle joint after falling from a school bus at 15yrs old. My ankle gradually deteriated over my working life to the stage where I suffered a spontaneous fracture of the 5th metatarsal. After failed attempts to encourage the fracture to heal Dr Cadden operated and fused my ankle. I now have no pain in the ankle and even have an amount of movement in the joint which I didn't think I would have. I would recommend Dr Cadden to anyone who is considering surgery.

I had years of suffering with bouts of infection and chronic pain in my foot and ankle before I was referred to Dr Cadden by my podiatrist. He had only just met Dr Cadden professionally and was immediately impressed. On my first consultation, Dr Cadden showed genuine concern and empathy and a keen interest to help me along the road to recovery. He collaborated with colleagues in the US and Australia to afford the best possible outcome for me before committing to surgery. Now the risk of infection is gone and four months down the track from ankle surgery I am walking again without pain for the first time in years. Dr Cadden is a highly intelligent and skilled surgeon with a caring and professional team supporting him. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Cadden to anyone seeking a surgeon with the experience and skill to conduct foot or ankle surgery regardless of the complexity.

I recently had a total ankle replacement performed by Dr Fadden, the operation went extremely well and early results are very promising. The quality of skill, service and attention to detail was in my opinion second to none.Dr Fadden was recommended to me by a very well respected shoulder surgeon in Sydney and his advice was excellent.
I have no hesitation in making this statement and should anyone out there be considering foot or ankle advice Dr Fadden is well worth a visit
