After dealing with Dr. Oyebode Arojojoye for quite a while now I have become much more understanding and acceptable toward schizophrenia with a brain injury as well. He explains things thoroughly and understandings your mind very thoroughly. In the beginning I look forward to this doctors professional treatment.

This doctor is absolutely incredible. Ive had a difficult journey in the healthcare system, and have felt gaslit and not listened to for so long. Dr. Arojojoye was an incredible, and refreshing shift in my care. He heard me, listened to me, and has continued to find ways to support me. I didn’t feel intimated when I met in person with him, instead I felt the opposite-affirmed and cared for. He also explains things so well, and doesn’t push you to do things you don’t want to. He really honoured my lived experience, and met me in that, while providing me with his wisdom. I’m so thankful to be supported by him, and I hope more psychiatrists try to model their care after Dr. Arojojoye.

I wasted a year under his care. My last visit he accused me of writing a negative
Review, 3 times! I had to see some other doctor to validate my illness. He said Dr. A. Had me on the wrong meds. Kvwas able to see someone celse else who I felt actually cared. And got me on the proper meds.

I went to see him for adhd and he wouldn’t even talk about it, three antidepressants at me that didn’t work because I wasn’t depressed. I had adhd. I suffered for 2 more years before I finally saw an adhd specialist and within one week on proper medications for the disorder I ACTUALLY HAVE, my life has improved astronomically. Dr. Arojojoye did not at any point have my best interest in mind. Only his own. Go somewhere else.

My first appointment was on the phone. He didn't ask me what my problems were, just about my family history. Told me that he wouldn't help me. Mental health problems obviously aren't as important as getting paid for him. He should have his license revoked.

A good doctor but the reason I'm giving it one star less for staff is when I call them to book another new appointment, the answering machine says that the office is usually closed and will reopen on a certain date but even days after that date the office is still closed.

I saw this doctor for years until a few years ago when I finally said "enough". I felt compelled to write this review as people need to know what it could be like (I guess from the positive and negative reviews if he likes you your experience is positive and if he doesn't your experience is not positive). As in the other negative reviews, my experience was the same. He has his "late rule" that comes with the threat of your appt being cancelled and/or him dropping you as a patient. He would not accept any reason for being late, valid or not. When he asked me questions, I could give a quick answer; any longer of an answer he would not take the time to listen and just state what I should do. He is a very strong personality so those of you who find it difficult to speak up for yourself may have a negative experience with this doctor. I suffer from depression and have an eating disorder. He is very easy to lie to... he would ask if I had had any episodes and I would say no and we would move on. After seeing him for so many years I would think he should be able to see that I was lying... I am not a good lier - it's just not part of my nature. I lied because I didn't feel he cared about me one way or another so I didn't feel he deserved my trust. When I decided to stop seeing him it was because for my last scheduled appt with him I knew I was going to be late (for a very valid reason that was out of my control) and that I would have to face him scolding me like I was a child. I had never felt he really cared about me or my wellbeing and had always dreaded my appts with him anyway so I decided that it was not worth getting "in trouble" with him.

This is simply my experience with him. I would advise to go see him and get your own impression of him. We are all different people - some who are capable of interacting positively with a personality such as his and those of use who need more of a caring, empathetic bedside manner. There are only two (I believe) psychiatrists in Abbotsford and neither of them is accepting patients at this time so, after waiting for well over a year, I agreed to see a doctor in New Westminster. I am not seeing many positive reviews for him either but will see the doctor and get my own impression. Those of us who need this service don't have much of a choice at this point.

By the way, he has had a lot of different receptionists over the years - three or four during the time I saw him - what would you say the reason for the high turnover is?

I did not like my visits with Dr. A. I found him to be judgemental and arrogant.
