As a teenager in the 1970's, I had surgery for scoliosis. 40 years later, I began having severe, shooting, stabbing pains and nerve issues in my legs and hips. The pain prevented me from standing up straight. I tried numerous epidural, steroid-type injections, to no avail. My pain management doctor referred me to Dr. Kimber. After months of trying to deal with my back issues through medication and injections, I saw Dr. Kimber and he immediately explained to me why medication alone wasn't helping, and exactly how he could fix my problems through surgery. He, and an amazing team, performed a LONG lumbar fusion surgery, exactly as he had described. He corrected an almost 45 degree forward lean and I am standing upright once again. The first 3 weeks after surgery were tough, but it has been almost 8 weeks now since surgery and I feel great! No pain in my legs or hips, at all. Dr. Kimber is one of a kind! He spent a long time with me on my first visit answering every question I had and using pictures and models to thoroughly explain everything he felt needed to be done. Love this man! He has definitely blessed my life! For 15 years I have dealt with cervical pain, previous fusions and so much medicine along with pain management procedures. My quality of life was so poor. I was getting very depressed. My pain management doctor referred me to Dr. Kimber to investigate further. He spent a great deal of time with me on my first visit, sent me for x-rays and ct scans and immediately found the problem. He gave me all the best and worst case scenarios of what could happen when he went in to do the surgery. He is so easy going, easy to talk to and is so passionate about his calling.
