Avoid this highly unscrupulous practice. My opinion is they should be brought upon charges.

Utterly terrible experience as a patient of this practice. Dr. Montes recommended Invisalign because I had an upper molar hitting a lower molar at an angle that caused a bone spur in my jaw. I specifically asked if all practitioners charge the same for Invisalign - they unblinkingly told me yes, that no matter where I went the cost would be the same as their quote. I paid a down payment and started treatment, only to find out that depending on the practitioner’s level, Invisalign’s cost varies significantly. I’d already started my treatment so I stayed. I continuously asked Dr. Montes if the spaces in my front four teeth would close and he assured me they would - five years later - FIVE - and 3 “refinements” into treatment, my front teeth never closed. Finally, Dr. Montes said “they’re as good as they’re going to get”. Had I known that shifting my teeth was going to cost a fortune and take years just to still have space on my front teeth, I would’ve explored braces or gone to another doctor. Invisalign should revoke his license to sell and treat patients with their product - he makes it seem as though it’s not a good product when I strongly believe he is the issue.

It is my opinion that either Nivaldo Montes is either highly unscrupulous or highly incompetent. Here is why I say that: although my x-rays showed I had a molar that had a crack that ran all the way through to the root, Dr. Montes kept putting a crown on that same molar which of course kept failing at about $5,000.00 a crack. Eventually, I caught on to what he was doing. I had an abscess in my gum which he referred to as a "bubble" but had no idea what it was. I went to a second DDS for another opinion. The second dentist took a look at it and immediately diagnosed it as an abscess and said I needed a root canal. I went back to Montes and told him the second dentist diagnosed my "bubble" as an abscess. Montes' reply was "well then, you need a root canal". How was it that he didn't know what an abscess looked like but did know that the remedy was a root canal?! I filed a complaint with the proper Illinois regulatory body who in my opinion whitewashed the episode. Thirdly, that second dentist informed me I was grinding my teeth in my sleep and should get a mouth guard which also slipped by Montes. I would recommend that an and all stay far away from this practice.
