It has taken me over 3 years to rate Joel Young. I can't help reading his rather pathetic answers to negative reviews. He presents himself as a true professional when the "Dr" can not even remember, not even by looking at his laptop (the only thing he does) if you were tested or not by his sophisticated bipolar test. He mat work for kids and youngsters that are battling with mental disorders, but if you are an adult, expect to be treated by a guy who behaves as he had never left high school, no matter his titles, surrounded by a "team" of female therapists and front desk workers from whom this man just poorly reproduces his conception of a suburban patriarchy. Stay away from him.

First appt of only 20 minutes, Dr Young prescribed two medicines without even reading my 12 pages of intakes forms. The Adderall hyped me up for 5 hours. The next appt he shoved me off to a PA. This behavior is very unethical if not reportable to the medical association.

I am writing to commend the wonderful experience I have had working with Aliya Pasik. Having experienced several years of unsuccessful treatment and failed courses of medication with other therapists, Aliya was the first to suggest genetic and written testing. She was also the first to suggest a different class of medication for me, deducting that if previous regiments had been unsuccessful, then a new approach was needed. Her commitment to problem solving and patient care has truly been a life saver. Working with Aliya has helped me to find success in my personal and professional life; goals that seemed out of reach for several years while I struggled to find the appropriate course of treatment. I would highly recommend Aliya to any prospective patient.

Front staff are condescending. Dr. Young is not a compassionate doctor and comes across as better than others in my opinion

Dr. Young unapologetic and did not even acknowledge being 50 minutes late first appointment. 2nd appointment he was an hour late. Office staff did not inform me he was running behind upon checking in nor did they have the courtesy to even check in on me in the waiting room and ask if I would like to reschedule. When I called to complain about Dr. Young’s missed appointment I was told he “IS THE DIRECTOR you know”.... I see.... so the fact that I took off work plus drive time to make my appointment (my time is somehow less important). Maybe I should’ve sent a bill for my time instead. I currently am making approx. $70 per hour plus drive time and missed appointment charges. This is an easy fix. Office staff can inform you upon arrival if Doc is running late, keep you informed while you’re waiting and ask if you’d like to reschedule if you cannot wait. We are expected to give 24 hour notice if we can’t make appointment and subsequently charged for missed appointments. Courtesy and professionalism run both ways.

Our first appointment with Dr. Young was underwhelming to say the least. He was unapologetic for his lack in professionalism in acknowledging his extreme tardiness. He abruptly entered the room with a curt hello and proceeded with a belittling line of questioning from behind his desk with his head buried in the computer. The atmosphere was cold and felt in the conversation as well as the observed body language. We have found another office.

I've been a patient of Dr. Young for 7 years and I cannot say enough good things about the man, because he has truly changed my life. Before I saw Dr. Young, I was a mess--because I'd spent most of my life either undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for multiple issues that made my daily life a struggle.

After he figured out what was actually going on with me, it made managing my life possible for the first time. When you don't know what's wrong, or if something's even wrong at all--there's a feeling of hopelessness, because you have a different set of tools than everyone else. When you live in a world where most people have have a hammer; if you don't know that you've been given a screwdriver (or don't know how to use it effectively); you're doomed to fail when it comes time to fasten two things together! Sure, you could keep pounding away at a nail with the butt of screwdriver and it might eventually go in--but it'll take way more time and effort, than if you had known to grab a screw and how to drive it in properly!

Thanks to Dr. Young and his clinicians, I know what tools I've got to work with and how to use them more effectively--which has helped me immensely. It's also helped everyone around me either indirectly (because they don't have to worry so much about me) or directly (because I realized they were just like me in many ways) and after sending them to see Dr. Young, he's helped them too!

As great as he is, he doesn't do it alone--the army of folks he has in his office are all extremely helpful. When I went through a period without insurance, because the ACA hadn't kicked in yet, they were able to work out an arrangement with me, where I could still afford to pay for my visits AND afford the medication I required in order to function properly! They were able to help get me into an income bases assistance program (that pharmaceutical companies are required to offer, when there isn't a generic available) where I could get a 30 day supply, every month for 12 months (that I renewed several years in a row)--completely free of charge!

Also another reason why I love Dr. Young and the rest of the folks at the RCBM is their website. They really understand the importance of having a highly functional, easy to use website! Not only are there all the standard things most Doctors office have on their websites, but hands down the best part is being able to request my own prescription refills (which the ever so wonderful staff actually processes by hand!) Anyone who has ever been prescribed the class of drugs used to treat ADHD, knows how difficult it is to get it filled. As someone who drives a fair distance to see Dr. Young, I simply can't afford the added time and expense to kill several hours every month driving to and from his office to pick-up my prescription in person and physically deliver it to the pharmacy! The RCBM website makes it super quick and easy to get my prescription sent directly to the pharmacy--which is even easier than it had been previously, because they were forced to mail me an original copy, that I still has to drop off at the pharmacy in person--now I just drive to go pick it up!

As a guy with ADHD, anything that can simplify a process and speed it up that much I s a massive bonus! If they offered appointments via Skype on nights/weekends and an automated payment system--they'd be the most convenient doctor's office on the planet! (Although, it's be a bit of a shame since the new larger office has a really nice waiting area that has enough room for everyone now AND free WiFi!)

We have worked with Dr Young for over 6 years. Dr Young worked miracles for my son who was spiraling out of control with 2 types of mental health problems. He is now living a normal healthy life and we have Dr Young's experience and attention to detail to thank for his well being. My son is about to graduate from college and we know this would not be possible without the care of Dr Young and his staff. We strongly recommend Dr Young!
