Long overdue review. I went to Stack and Dershaw 19 years ago for my first pregnancy because everyone raved about them. When it came time for my delivery, they were both on vacation! Dr. Borthwick was OK, a bit rude. They induced me and I didn't progress. At 10PM they decided to do an "emergency" C section, and scheduled it for 12 hours later at 10AM. WTH. It was the most terrifying experience of my life. My son has high functioning autism and I always wonder.

We dealt with two doctors in the practice, when having a baby a year ago. Dr. Stack was abysmal. Dr. Borthwick was average.....still a bit careless and cold during the labor process. But when we compare her to Stack, she was a dream come true. I'd steer away from this practice as a whole, though. Not very warm or caring....they almost seem to act to avoid lawsuits, and nothing more.

I've been a patient of Dr. Borthwick for about 11 years, or since I was just entering college. I've always had a great rapport with her, and even more so now that I am married and we've started the TTC process. She has a very approachable bedside manner, is gentle during exams, answers all questions, and makes the extra effort to have a real conversation with you during your visit. I've started conceptualizing the birth experience, and I really hope that she will be the one to deliver our child. I can't say anything negative about any of the staff during my visits and whenever I've called I've been treated respectfully in a friendly manner. One thing is id try to get my future appts at their new location-Dr B was raving about it, and their Old York Rd space is certainly outdated.

My issues are as follows: I am 38 years old with NO children. Dr.Borthwick frowns upon those who choose not to have children and that ANNOYS me! She pushes her beliefs on you and then judges you when you disagree. My other problem is one year I had an abnormal pap and didn't find out until 27 days later and that is when I eventually called even though I was told I would get a call if anything was abnormal!!!! The staff on Central avenue is FAR FROM FRIENDLY other than Colleen.

Do NOT trust Dr. Borthwick to deliver your baby vaginally successfully. I had a horrible experience when I was induced with cervidil at 41 weeks pregnant. I specifically told Dr Borthwick that my baby was not in the correct position for me to deliver vaginally. She told me I was wrong and the baby was in the proper position. Before the nurse put cervidil (vaginal insert to induce labor) in me I asked her to check with an ultrasound, and she said again the baby was in the correct position. Well she was not and Dr Borthwick put a vacuum suction cup in me TWICE and only managed to RIP the skin of my newborns head. And she kept telling the nurse about how her patient in the next room was delivering naturally. NOT something I cared about at the time. In the OR she completely ignored every questin I asked before the emergency C-section. I did not get to breastfeed my baby right away although I specifically told her it was important to me in my birthplan. I have more to say but no space.

I love Dr. Borthwick. She was the on-call physician when I went into labor. She was better than my ob-gyn! I switched to her practice. She is kind and caring. Dr. Borthwick has amazing bedside manner. She truly feels like a friend!

I like Dr Borthwick the best out of the 4 drs in the practice. She never makes me feel rushed and always answers my questions. The wait is pretty long (30mins + on average) and I do not like any of the staff or the other drs in that practice.

DR borthwick is my regular Dr in this practice. She always takes the time needed to answer my questions and make sure I am comfortable with what is going on. The one time I saw her was to have staples removed after a C-section and I was scared to death. I was under the impression removing them was painful. She waited until I was ready to start and eased my fears. When I finally let her start 15 min alter she was still happy and attentive. Not at all concerned that I was keeping her. Sure, her office does get backed up every once in a while and I have to wait, but it is an OB office. Emergencies are going to come up and Drs are going to get held up. Its still better that my old Dr who was in a preactice alone, so if a patient went into labor, all appts were cancelled. That was bad. I think all the Drs and stafff in her preactice are preofessional and curtious. I always recommend then to freinds and family.

This was my second yearly visit to Doctor Borthwick. The first visit was very brisk, I waited about 20 minutes to be seen for less than 5. No questions were really answered. I chalked this up to her having a bad day. Today was my second appointment, I was there for over an hour and a half. The office was less than clean, I waited an hour just to be made to wait another half hour (naked and chilly!) in the room. No one knocked before they entered, my questions were brushed off again, she said she "would see me up front" afterwards, and wasn't there. When I was upfront I was ignored while the staff was in silly conversation, this all made me feel like cattle or a walking dollar sign. Lastly, there was no parking left and a few patients had to walk from a slight distance since there isn't street parking either. Overall, I think this is the most inefficient office in existence. But her OB patients seemed genuinely happy, who knows why? The only nice, attentive person was the triage nurse.
