We can't say enough good things about Dr. Bagden. In 2008, our dentist recommended that our daughter (7 years old at the time) see an orthodontist for monitoring, as there were issues that would likely become problematic as she grew older. We took her for a consult in November of 2008 and the orthodontist we saw wanted to start treatment immediately with an expander and plans for extractions. Although this was a popular orthodontist in our area, we felt this was a little aggressive for a 7-year-old who was extremely small for her age and still had a lot of growing to do. He assured us that this is the way things are done today. We felt this course of action was a bit excessive and asked our dentist for another referral. He sent us to Dr. Bagden. Best decision we ever made. Dr. Bagden was conservative, yet very thorough. He evaluated our daughter and said it was definitely too early to start treatment. He had us bring her back every six months for over two years to monitor her growth and movement of her teeth, never charging us a fee for these visits. Once she was ready for treatment, he sat down with us and went over all the options and specifics about her treatment plan. He could not have been more patient in answering our questions or addressing our concerns. By this time, she was 10 years old and in 5th grade. He assured us that if she attended all her appointments and wore her rubber bands as directed, that she would be finished with treatment before she started 8th grade. She did exactly as he asked and it was two years, almost to the day, from when she had her braces put on and then had them taken off. Here teeth are now perfect. This process included one oral surgery for molars that were impacted and would have caused extensive damage with or without braces, but even that experience could not have gone smoother, thanks to Dr. Bagden and his referral to an amazing oral surgeon. Dr. Bagden has been extremely accommodating and supportive throughout the entire treatment. Whenever something unexpected came up (wire breaks, teeth move more quickly than expected, bracket causing irritation), Dr. Bagden fit her in right away to correct the problem. He is always in a good mood and greets every patient with a smile and kind words. He is responsive and professional in every way and does exactly what he says he will do. His office staff is wonderful as well. They are all highly skilled, polite, and cheerful. They work well together in a busy environment and even at the end of the day they are all still smiling and enjoying their jobs. The entire experience could not have gone better and we highly recommend Dr. Bagden and his staff for all your orthodontic needs.

All I can say is that Dr. Bagden "hits all the marks" for decent care. However, we transferred in from another orthodontist, and I do not feel like Dr. Bagden cares much about my son or his care. He is seen by staff, not Dr. Bagden. I have never been given any updates. My son't treatment has gone on one year longer than recommended by his last ortho. I never get a reminder phone call or email for any appointment. When I forget, it is used as an excuse for making his treatment twice as long because they won't make room for him in the schedule. I have two other children in need of orthodontic care and I will not be going to Dr. Bagden for their treatment.

We've been going to Dr. Bagden off and on for about 15 years through both kids. The office staff is professional and, I found, personable. Severl of the front-desk staff have been with Dr. Bagden for many years and they've seen it all. They do their jobs efficiently and professionally which is what I ask. I've been very happy with the clinical staff, especially their willingness to bring me back to see what's being done and why. Worked well with my general dentist & oral surgeon.

Dr. Bagden and his staff have been wonderful to us. We moved to Fairfax from out of state last year and transferred to him mid-way through both of my children's treatments. The ladies at the front desk and in billing have been wonderfully helpful during our transition. They worked with us to keep the payments within our budget and handled all of the records transfer from our old orthodontist. The hours are a bit limiting but the Damon system that they use means less office visits than traditional methods (we only have to go in about every 2-3 months). We chose Dr. Bagden because he is a world renowned and highly respected name among orthos who use the Damon system. In fact, he was highly recommended by the orthodontist we used in Seattle before we moved. I have been nothing but impressed by Dr. Bagden and his office staff.

What makes the experience bad is the office staff. The woman in billing needs a course in customer service, perhaps she trained at the DMV. Unfortunately, you need to deal with her so good luck. I agree, if I had known now what I new earlier. I would have not gone here. Als, for so many of the clients having school age kids (braces) you would think that scheduling would be more kid friendly.

His billing staff/person is horrible: very slow & argumentative. I called to see if they would cash a check I had presented 30 days prior and they acted as if it were my fault they hadn't gone to the bank to cash it. If you have ANY other option, take it. Front desk is equally bad.

Dr. Badgen is never in, he travels a lot. My child has been seen by his partner more than him! His front desk staff is rude. They are not customer friendly - closed Fridays, no weekend appointments, evening hours only one evening per week, office opens late Monday. Not flexible at all! I would not go back to him. When he looks at you he sees $$$$$$$!
