Dr. Luther replaced the spinal stimulator battery in my back to one that was 3 times the size. He said he would numb the area and it would only take 10 minutes. I was never shown the new batter until they were taking me in for the procedure. This experience was the worst I’ve ever had
And left me traumatized. What he gave me to numb the area didn’t work. I told him I felt everything. He said he gave me the maximum amount of numbing medication and proceeded with the procedure anyway. I cried through the whole thing. He asked me during the middle of the procedure what was wrong and again I told him I felt everything. I could feel him cutting my skin, taking the old battery out, putting the new battery in and stapling the incision. They only thing he said was “I’m almost done”. They usually put you to sleep for this procedure but, he chose not to. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone. Obviously, he has no compassion and certainly doesn’t consider the comfort of his patients.

After neck surgery , after the neck braces were removed he informed me I did not need the surgery. I asked him Why did you do it? His reply was because the neurologist told me to and Ido what I’m told. I totally resent his answer. Why wouldn’t all doctors at least tell you to get a second opinion! I would never have any surgery especially if it was not needed, My neurologist told me if I didn’t have this surgery, I could be in a wheelchair and Dr. Luther’s Assistant, Terrance? said it was in her notes and that I could be wheelchair bound in two weeks if I didn’t have this surgery. I ask myself. WHY? WHY? WHY? When questions arise, or when a difference of opinion occurs, I would like think I was included because I would NEVER have a surgery that wasn’t necessary. This just plain wrong!!!!

I had surgery less than 2 weeks ago and already walking ,climbing stairs and continuing with my life. Without pain meds. Without assistance. And I truly believe it's because of Dr. Luther and his team. The day of my surgery, each member of his team introduced themselves, answered every question I had and explained what to expect both before and after. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel insignificant at any time. No one could have been more afraid of surgery than I, trust me. Should you ever have issues with your spine, you will not have a better group to help.
