Dr. Vavra was excellent, but I can't say the same for the poorly inept staff upon arriving. I had the appt for some time, hopeful for a cancellation. One day I got a cancellation which was promptly taken back, then appt confirmation call 3 times, which I confirmed, I also took time to fill paperwork out months ahead and insurance pre approved. Arrival was a mess, couldn't figure out my insurance, after standing a while, I decided to sit until they could. Is this evidence of no or bad training, or our education system in Haywood County? Please clean house and screen employees abilities to input data and have any interpersonal skills with the patients. Even my husband had a call before my appt, after which he told me to go early to the appt because they had issues. He was right, I went at 3 and they weren't sure they had my paperwork I had done months ahead, before the appt. I even offered to do it again. I've never gone through this in any other doctor's office. Unprofessional.

As a patient treated for chronic daily migraines it was highly disappointing that Dr. Vavra wouldn't write a doctors note for an excuse to jury duty. The nurse stated on the phone that he said "headaches aren't an excuse to get out of jury duty." As a neurologist he should understand that migraine disorders are NOT typical headaches and when one suffers them on a daily basis it impairs ones ability to function normally. It was highly insulting being I've been treated by him for these for the past few years, so he should have known that my condition would indeed interfere with my ability to sit on a jury.
