Found Dr. Zinke to be racially, and culturally insensitive in his comments. He misdiagnosed my condition, and was dismissive of previous findings and medical history. He exhibited an unprofessional and poor beside manner, at one point telling me " you'd be better off not knowing you had it". I feel he comes across as arrogant, old fashioned, and not up to date with current practices or patient-doctor communication styles . Would not recommend or return to Dr. Zinke for care.

Dr. Zinke fixed my herniated disc, and for the first time in years I am pain free. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. The surgery went exactly like he said it would, and I went home the same day. I was back to work in 2 weeks. I would highly recommend this kind doctor to anyone .

THIS PERSON IS HORRIBLE REPSENTION OF A DOCTOR!!! So I will not be calling him a Doctor.

My Mother's first back surgery was over 5 years ago, in which he made himself out to be some sort of mircle worker and said she would be back on her feet in a month. WELL to make long story short and after a second surgery four months latter, my Mother was deemed permanently disabled from SSDI. She was diagnose diagnose with failed back surgery and a drop right foot from Mr. Zinke cutting her sciatic nerve the second surgery trying to fix his first mistakes!!!

SHE LOST everything because of this so called doctor. Her house, her car and life! She now lays in bed most days in complete pain. The doctor's at UCLA told my Mother that Zenke should be disbarred for what he did to her!

OH and another thing before her first surgery, my sister wanted to say a prayer over my Mother and my sister grab Mr. Zinke's hand and began to pray, he then preceed to abrupt pull his hand away and told my sister it was bad luck to pray??? That should had been the first sign that he is the devil himself!!
He only care about the big pay check in the end and in my Mother's case not one but two surgeries!

DO NOT GO TO HIM!!

He knew exactly what was wrong with me by looking at how I stood for three seconds, then described to a tee the pain I was feeling. He knows his stuff. His mannerisms are odd, but he is a genius at spines and nerves and evaluating what needs to be done. A week ago I was in agony. Now I have no pain five days after surgery and for the first time in years am excited to start the day and move around knowing it won't hurt. I had a C6/C7 discectomy. An added note is a physical therapist not related to Zinke or his practice assured me he is not one to perform frivolous surgery. He is honest.

Dr. Zinke operated on my back. Six months after the surgery two of the four metal plates he put on my vertebrae collapsed. I've had to have another surgery and due to the damage from the first one, I have metal on six! I've been told by several specialists that if Dr. Zinke would have taken care of "TAKING CARE OF ME AFTER THE SURGERY", that wouldn't have happened. There was no follow up care, no back brace to protect my back with the new metal in it, no physical therapy, etc. I would not go to him again, nor would I recommend him to somebody else.

It has been ten years since my procedure, and I spontaneously came across this site. I notice the recent positive ratings for Zinke, however, I didnt see the good things ten years ago. I fractured me C2 vertebrae and was required to attach a Halo neck brace to my body. A few days later, the screws in my forehead came loose, and when he tightened them, not only did he blame the equipment saying it was crappy, he did not order additional X-rays to make sure by neck was completely straight. As a result, the bones healed crooked and wavy. Now I live everyday in discomfort. Why didnt I say anything ten years ago?? - Perhaps I was young, 16 years old, scared, and inexperienced. But now, I've grown, and also working in the healthcare industry, and I promise not to be like you. Dr. Zinke, if you see this, my birthday is 03-12-1987, G.S., I have some very curious questions to ask.

Dr. Zinke is a very compassionate doctor, who genuinely cares for his patients. He operated on me for a benign brain tumor, and I am now tumor free! I have no seizures and no headaches, and am VERY grateful to this good man. I wouldn't consider going to any other neurosurgeon. No wonder Dr. Zinke has such a good reputation in the San Gabriel Valley.

Dr. Zinke performed a posterior lumbar interbody fusion on me in 2009. Three years later and I am completely pain free. In fact, within 14 days of surgery I was off all pain medications after relying on them for 8 years. He is an amazing neurosurgeon. I owe him my life today because before my surgery, I didn't feel like living anymore. Some people are just bad surgical candidates and sometimes the outcome is not the best. I feel bad for them, but do not feel Dr. Zinke is at fault if their recovery is not as they desired.

I have worked with Dr. Zinke for over 20 years and he is the best neurosurgeon in the area!! He has saved 1,000s of lives and always uses the best technology available to treat his patients! His patients heal very fast and tend to leave the hospital sooner than those seen by competing MDs. His caring Christian attitude is observed and appreciated by his patients and staff. Contrary to a previous reviews claims he has never paralyzed anyone and has one of the most prestine records. He is known for his 30+ years of experience with an incredible knowledge and love for neurosurgery. In the eyes of those who work with him, he is a hero and worthy of our respect and admiration!
