I’ve been seeing Dr. Hategan for a couple years now and absolutely love being treated by her. She’s very knowledgeable, compassionate, and has given my some great advice and insights. She doesn’t suffer fools lightly, so if you bring a lot of drama or are otherwise not a particularly good patient yourself, she may not be your cup of tea. Basically, if you present Dr. Hategan with BS…you will get called on it. However, if you do your part (showing up for your appointments on time, taking your medicine as prescribed, and not being a difficult person in general) you will have no issues whatsoever and will receive great treatment.

I’d give zero stars if I could. PLEASE if you value your mental health and need a good doctor you can trust... DO NOT GO HERE! My very first visit (my husband came with) we sat in the waiting room, Dr. Hategan walked outside and her colleague came out saying “that guy is going to f’in dig himself into a hole”. She didn’t see us in the waiting room. She apologized but it was the most unprofessional thing I’ve witnessed. Dr. Hategan was over 25 minutes late because she needed to smoke a couple cigarettes, never apologized for the inconvenience, and seemed to not care in the least bit. Whenever we would call the number or text it (their directions) we never got any replies back or phone calls returned. She then tried charging us 100$ for a “no show” when my husband and myself called, left text messages, and voicemails. And the front desk girl is so unfriendly an should not be the first person someone talks to about their mental health. Unprofessional. Uncaring. Rude. Unreliable. Untrustworthy. Get yourself a psychiatrist that cares!

I've seen Dr. Hategan for two years. In that time she has proven herself an excellent therapist. Her understanding of which drugs I needed and how both to safely start and titration off them helped me through some miserable times. She is smart, compassionate, and flat out cares. Ive watched her treat those with addiction from a place of respect. She will teach you through therapy to help yourself and find peace.

During our interview, Dr. Hategan couldn't seem to tear her eyes away from her computer screen, not even to greet me. The questions with which she diagnosed me were canned and robotic, leading to a blatant misdiagnosis for a disease which I show no symptoms for. Her demeanor was cold and uncaring. My appointment began 25 minutes late, which I was told by the staff is typical of their practice. That is entirely unprofessional. l I would never recommend her services to anyone.

However, her office staff were very friendly and courteous (Kim and a younger gentleman). Also, there are a few delightful canines they keep around the office.

I started with Dr. Hategan at a difficult time in my life and she backed me in choosing a good medication with my neurologist. So, thumbs up to first appt. But each appt after was spent with her staring at a computer screen and occasionally mentioning things (mainly medication possibilities). The room was dark and her sessions left me feeling gloomy. She had very negative feedback about my life. Finally, at only our fourth appt, I was sharing some marriage frustrations and how I'm overwhelmed with stressful life circumstances, and she unglues from her screen and proclaims at me like a fortune teller that some day my marriage will end in divorce and I should know this. This moment was uncalled for, handled unprofessionally, and extremely traumatic and hurtful. Even if she had valid insight to share, this was over the line and inappropriate. We had spent less than four hours interacting. How dare she be so brazen as to assume she has a complete picture and declare something so large. She kicked me while I was down and offered no empathy. I felt more pain and coldness in that moment than in the one I was discussing with her prior to her declaration. I'm never going back.

The staff was amazing and friendly which made me hope that the doctor would be just as warm and inviting after talking to her for some time it seemed as though she had become uninterested I. The appointment. I then sat through what medications she might prescribe the side effects far outweighing the benefits I had decided I did not want to get a prescription and would decide at a later date and she seemed very annoyed by this and seemed anxious for me to make a decision then and there. I felt very pressured and asked if I could have more time. I will not be returning and will find another psychiatrist who will not pressure me into chemical treatment.

I think she needs to see a psychiatrist herself. She has some serious problems and she also wreaks of cigarettes. She baldfaced lied to me right to my face. I don't trust her for anything, especially with my mental health. I feel she is grossly incompetent.

Dr Hategan has literally changed my life. No joke! Been going to her for 2 yrs and while she's firm in her ways, she's empathetic and understanding at the same time. You may not find her to be your cup of tea at first, but over time your life turns the right direction. Seriously , it's like feeling you're completely lost in a drive, only to find out you were back way that you had no idea existed and shaved 1 hr off your drive time.

I have seen this dr only three times and I find her to be s bit tough around the edges but is very humane in her treatment. My depression is such an issue that I'm confused by all the medicines. My wish is that she get better eye contact and not stare into computer screen. I believe she wants to help but needs to be more personable.
