Very thorough and took his time. Explained all my options in a way I could understand. Would recommend him to anyone!

This doctor sent me home in tears. He told me I should "get used to" having arthritis, refused to discuss my MRI, did a cursory exam, told me to "calm down" when I tried to explain my physical frustrations, told me I'm "too old" to heal properly (I'm in my 50's) so surgery wouldn't work, and said he wouldn't treat my knee problem until I saw a back specialist. He didn't listen to my desires to live an active life--kept interrupting and telling me to listen to him and trust him. The only diagnostic he would discuss with me was my X-ray. He offered me a cortisone shot, but didn't tell me about Euflexxa or SynVisc. My second opinion doctor was great--he discussed all the diagnostics, my prognosis, what was likely to help and not help, and why (as opposed to "you're too old"). I ended up with a Synvisc shot a month ago and that has helped tremendously. I still smart from being insulted, denigrated, and dismissed by Dr. Mata.

Very rude doctor, false information and never sure of his self.. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Very uncompassionate.

this doctor was very rude, uncompassionate and seemed to have no real knowledge of his skill set. We were told misleading info by him several times only to have an attending tell us that he was completely wrong...do not use him
