The support staff is HORRIBLE. They are very rude, short, and take a LONG time to fulfill a request. Dr. Novack was nice enough when doing the exam, but was not personable at all. I tried this office since it was covered by my insurance, but I will be getting care somewhere else from now on. Don't waste your time.

horrible experience with staff, abusive old white haired female assistant. Called in the morning for a receipt, went from work to pick it up in the evening told me and I quote " I didn't have the time, come back another day " really ? told her that I came to pick this up and then run to pick up my kids from daycare, told me that I should have picked up my kids first. This woman seems to have been working for years at this practice so it looks like her behavior has not been corrected nor is likely to be. Don't even bother with their practice in independence.

We recently switched to Dr. Novack's after a bad experience with our long term optometrist. My daughter had been struggling with headaches at school but our last optometrist would just tell her to get used to them. Dr. Novack said the prescription was too strong gave her a new pair of glasses to try and my daughter said she doesn't get the headaches anymore. It just goes to show sometimes its good to get second opinions. My husband and I had a pleasant experience with our exams as well.

My family has been going to Dr.Novack for over 20 years and we all love him and the staff! Dr Novack is very professional and effecient. He listens to us and always does everything he can to meet our needs. The frame selection is always very current with the latest styles (makes it so hard to choose sometimes)! We would recommend his office for everyone.

I've been getting my contacts and eyeglasses from Dr. Novack's KC office for about 14 years now and highly recommend it. I have never had any trouble making an appointment and have always been able to get scheduled within a week of when I call. The staff has always been incredibly knowledgeable about my insurance and what it covers along with helping to decide if it more cost effective to have it cover my eyeglasses or contacts. They are usually running 5-10 mins behind schedule but the customer service is otherwise so good that I don't mind.

I scheduled and appointment for my daughter and I, her first time trying contacts, and I mentioned this while on the phone making the appointment. Our appt was on a Saturday, the front desk assistant (female) advised me that I would have to make a separate 1 hour appt for my daughter so she could train her, I was not happy and neither was my daughter. She had been looking forward to this. There was no one else in the office, and the assistant refused to try. I don't know why they needed to schedule and hour with her, it would have maybe taken 15 mins. The lady was not willing to try, or help. She was unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude aside from being forthcoming with the "training" time needed in a separate appointment. When I paid, she said she would "call", she didn't even allow me to schedule her 1 hour appt. The Dr, was not friendly either. I would only suggest this office if you are ok with the run around and unprofessional customer service.

My family recently had eye exams, glasses, and contacts at Dr. Novack's. The frame selection was outstanding. Dr. Novack is very professional. He is polite, and does not try to sell you anything you don't need. He is confident and good at his job. The staff go out of their way to make your visit a pleasant one. When we picked up our glasses we all looked great, and could see great. We are going back next year.
