Killed my family member with negligence. Terrible. Arrogant. Doesn’t care. Tunnel vision and doesn’t listen to what his patients are telling him. Something was seriously wrong with a family member and he called them liars and said he wasn’t ordering anymore tests. A better Dr confirmed there really was a life threatening problem. So thanks for nothing and for causing pain and suffering for 2 years just because you don’t care “doctor”. My family member is on hospice and dying because you ignored their symptoms and questions.

I have been a patient for 15+ years. Excellent compassionate doctor with great knowledge. I believe people mistake his English communication for rude bedside manner. He is often running behind because when it is your turn he spends as much time as you need to explain everything so you understand and to answer your questions. I have had numerous colonoscopies through the years and I have never felt anything nor been held down or spoken down to. Your immediate findings are given after the scope to you and your the person with you as well as a follow up call the next day to clarify everything. If a follow up appointment is needed it will be scheduled, why schedule a follow up if not needed? I have been to several GI doctors in the last 25 years, Dr. Makhdoom is by far the best I have seen hands down.

Zero bedside manner. Refused to listen to my medical complaints. Pushes weight loss surgery like a bulldozer.

I went to Dr. Makdoom for a colonoscopy with sedation. He became angry when he saw that I wasn’t clean. I thought he was going to send me home. Then the next thing that I new I was screaming in excruciating pain. He was doing the colonoscopy without sedation which I wanted and signed for. The pain was the worst pain that I have ever experienced. Dr. Makhdoom, the sedation nurse and the male person that brought me into the procedure room did not try to comfort me or help me. The only thing said was when Dr. Makhdoom told the male person in the to hold me down where Dr. Makdoom showed him. I felt like I had been as assulted or physically abused under the name of colonoscopy. I was crying and Dr. Makhdoom said “ Stop crying , we do not show emotion in here. I am trying to do whatever that I can do that Dr. Makhdoom and his employees in the room do not get by with this. It has been very hard to deal with this emotional and physically. Please, do not let Dr. Makhdoom do this to you. He owns his own office and all of the employees are his. I hope and pray that one of his employees will feel the need to tell the truth about what is happening there.

The first two patients' comments are very similar to my experience. I had 3 procedures/tests and never had a follow-up. No one explained why I needed the 2 additional tests. I asked about a follow-up after each procedure and was told there would be a follow-up appointment but all I got were 2 phone calls and 1 voicemail saying your tests came back okay, call us if you have any questions. I believe Dr. Makhdoom is very knowledgeable and qualified but I feel he was more interested in my insurance card than in my health. His staff was polite and friendly and "assembly line efficient." I am hesitant to recommend him to others because of the lack of a follow-up and chance to ask questions.

It has been difficult to set up appointments, whenever I am able to talk to someone. The ease of getting in was poor. The wait for my appointment was +45 minutes for 2 visits. Procedure day was the only day they really attentive but why give the patient the results immediately following procedure, when they are still groggy. I don't remember anything after my procedure. There should have been a follow up appointment afterwards not a "here you go" result immediately after procedure. It has been over a month and half since first procedure. Still waiting on full report. I've called and doctor is out of office and I will not get results for at least 2 weeks. REALLY!!

Only saw the PA and waited forever to see them for less than 10 minutes. Kept saying they would ask the doctor for me to come back in six weeks and still would have no answer. Kept wanting to do more test for a minor complaint, I have good insurance. I finally moved on.

This "doctor" has confused patients with others and has refused to release medical records. The Illinois Attorney General has been contacted as well as Illinois Prefesional Review Board. Medicare is on the list to notify.
