I had a great experience with Dr. Polcari. I had surgery to remove my right kidney due to a cancerous tumor. Dr. Polcari was professional, kind, and helpful. He is an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him.

I have been under Dr. Polcari care for prostate cancer for a year + and he will be doing my surgery. I feel very confident in his knowledge and ability to see me through, to a positive ending, of my medical condition. I highly recommend he and his staff if you need any treatment for prostate problems.

I am a nurse and work with Drs all day. I have to say I was very impressed with this Dr. I have had issues with hypokalemia (low potassium) and uncontrolled hypertension for years. Not one Dr has ever mentioned and causes relating one to the other, they just put me on meds to control each issue. Within 10 minutes of me mentioning my hypokalemia, he asked if Ive been tested for elevated aldosterone levels. I had not, no-one has even mentioned it. Low and behold, I have elevated aldosterone levels and that in itself can cause both of my health issues. Hes even consulting another Dr about my case to make sure I get the best care. I would definitely recommend him, and actually have twice already since my appt last week in St. Paul. Kudos to this Dr and his nurse Jenn.

I had a completely different experience with Dr. Polcari. I had (unknowingly) a swollen kidney caused by a narrowing of a ureter and a kidney stone. He was able to get the stone out, despite my narrowed ureter. He was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He was also very responsive to my questions and follow-up contact. Based on my experience, I would recommend him.

From the beginning, Dr. Polcari has been a nightmare to deal with. He messed up everything, including the medication, diagnosis, and scheduling the surgery. After he put me on the wrong medication the first time, I told him to bring another urologist in for a consult, and the other guy took me off the current medication and put me on the right ones and then diagnosed me with a hernia which Dr. Polcari missed, even though I told him I was having severe groin pain. Originally, it was going to be Dr. Polcari doing the surgery, but he called me and said that he has a bad record with that surgery and "that I really don't want him doing it." He said he would schedule it with another doctor. He never rescheduled it. After all was said and done, it was drawn out for 3 months and I ended up in the ER because of the delay. Metro Urology is a terrible office, and Dr. Polcari is a moron. Even if you need to drive to another network, do whatever you can to avoid Metro Urology and Dr. Polcari.
