Dr. Rubinstein did not close a stitch internally after a c- section. I was in recovery & was in the worst pain of my life. I was internally bleeding to death for over 5 hours. Until, a nurse, "Mona" screamed she is going to die if you don't help her.
I was in ICU for 5 days from so much blood lose. He was rude, didn't care I was dying after he had the baby out of me because I was there to give my baby boy up for adoption.
After he had the baby out, my life meant nothing to him. That was March 2009, I am still dealing with the trauma.
Even worse was after 5 days in ICU... I tried getting my medical records for 2-3 years. They stalled & stalled, then my OBGYN back home was able to request the records to find out the truth of what happened to me because Dr. Rubinstein's explanations / wheat happened to me kept changing. The records that were sent to my OBGYN had black sharpy marker canceling out a good bit of important information.
He also had inserted a very large catheter that constantly tore @ where I pee from. I still have problems to this day from the damage.
It was a miracle I survived.
I did not know about the statue of limitations & was in shock for a long time processing what happened to me. I was treated as if I were nothing once he had the baby for the attorney's & adopting family.
I owe my life to the nurse who yelled she is going to die & pushed him to help me.

He is the best doctor ever and he does not have big hands. A wonderful man who knows what he is doing and myself and my mom have been seeing him for over 20 years. he gets 6 stars if that is even possible!

ALL THAT I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS DOCTOR IS THAT HE LOVES TO PERFORM UNNECESSARY C-SECTIONS WHEN PATIENTS LABORS ARE TAKING LONG. HES IS SO UNPATIENT. AND HE HAS HUUUUUGE HANDS . NOT SOMETHING ANY WOMEN WANTS WHILE BEING CHECKED AND WHILE HAVING CONTRACTIONS. NO CONSIDERATION FOR WOMENS PAIN. JUST THE THOUGHT OF HIM MAKES MY HUSBAND AND I MAD. DO NOT...I WILL SAY IT AGAIN.....DO NOT HAVE HIM DELIVER YOUR BABY.

Dr. R delivered both my children. I was high risk and he never left my side after the delivery until I was stable. He visited me at the hospital at 2:00 am to check on my status. Dr. R is very kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and above all professional. If I were having any more children I would most definately have him as my doctor. My experience is with the Tarzana location. The staff is very friendly.

Our experience with Dr. Rubenstein was horrific. He was rude and insensitive. He performed an unneccessary episiotomy (our baby weighed 6.2 pounds at birth). While stitching my wife, he made a disgusting comment about how he'll "make sure it's tight" because I "wouldn't want it too loose." Those were his exact words. I have already filed a comnplaint against the medical board. I hope this review saves you the trouble that my wife and I are going through.

The doctor himself is great! the staff is horrible. They are rude and dont like to be botherd with your questions at all. As for the dr he is soo nice and helpful. I wish he'd get better staff. All they seem to be worried about is who speaks spanish. Which gets VERY annoying. Hes a good doctor very genuine and concerned and told me if I ever have any questions not to be scared to call and come in.

Phenomenal doctor. He delivered both my children and wouldn't change a thing. Not only is he very knowledgable, but he doesn't rush you and is quite caring. He is practical and worked with me the entire time to cater to my desires. His office environment is casual but they work well as a team.

The ratings that were posted were not very pleasent, but my personal experience with the doctor and the staff in van nuys and tarzana was great. My appointment was on time the office the staff was great no problems with the nurses and based on the experience that Dr. Rubenstein has I would highly recommend him as a doctor. The office staff was very proffessional and answered all of my questions and the doctor took the time to explain all the questions I had because I am a first time mother. I was offered different choices of hospitals and was very pleased with the time he took to explain the different types of anesthesia offered. The receptionist was very pleasent and greated me as soon as I entered the office and when I left as well as the staff. I send the office some Godiva chocolates to thank them for all there help and would highly recommend the doctor.
