Dr. Carlson was wonderful with me. Was referred to him by my general orthopedist, Dr. Mayo and we made a joint decision to have surgery. He was very upfront with me about the outcome & possibility of remaining pain due to the extent of my nerve damage. This was back in 2009. I am about to have another surgery due to an accident but not before he has exhausted all other options. PT, epidurals, acupuncture. He has been working with me for over 9 months in the hopes that I wouldn't need surgery. But now that I am having surgery, once again, he has been very upfront with me about the outcome. He has always taken the time to answer any questions I may have and I feel has a wonderful bedside manner. His staff, especially Don, Manny & Monica have also been extremely helpful and have never made me feel like I was bothering them, even on the days I would call multiple times.

Again this morning I wake up with back pain. Never a mention before the sergury that I could have daily back pain after surgery. No back pain before. I guess this is the price I pay for not checking out his reviews ahead of time. Surgery was for a pinch nerve to my leg.

Go where the money is. Dr carlson never said I could have back pain daily. What a scuz bag. I hate this money hungery doctor. He should be bared. Very sincerly.

I rate him poor. He promised the moon but results of the sergury are poor. I had hip and leg pain. He said I need surgery. I said I use to run every morning before the pain started. Will I be able to walk in the morings after the sergury. He said and I quote " I expect you to be able to do everything you did before". I had the sergury. The pain has never went away. I now have new back pains. I went back and was stuck with his assisant( not a doctor). I finally got to seen Dr. Carlson. He said I need more sergur and he never promised any thing. I told him not by you. He walked out of the room and never came back. I talk to a tect that worked with him. She said all of his come back for more sergury. If you keep going to him you will have pins all up your back. I still have the pain plus I have daily back pain added. Thanks Dr Carlson.

Dr. Carlson was fabulous in every area. I am a physical therapist and not only have knowledge about the spine, but have very high expectations regarding my physicians. He answered all of my questions, no matter, how many times or ways I asked them. He started out conservatively with therapy, etc. and when that had not worked after about 5 months, we began to discuss surgery. I felt as if I was his only patient, as I never felt rushed. I ultimately had spinal surgery, in 2002 and now, 7 1/2 years later, in 2009, It has remained a success. I realize that I am not the typical back surgery patient, in that my results were excellent. However,, I believe that Dr. Carlson's knowledge and expertise are the major reason why I did so well. I, also, worked my tail off in physical therapy for approximately 7 to 8 months following surgery, so I did my part and kept a positive outlook, throughout. Would go back to Dr. Carlson, in a heartbeat.

Does not discuss down falls of surgery. Surgery results a disaster. He not to concerned about poor results. Just wants to do more sugery. Leaves patient in exam room when not interest in more segury. Doen not come back. Sends nurse back in. I rate him as poor.
