My toe surgery to fuse phalangeal joints so the toe would stay straight and not curl under was not successful on the first or second tries. While my pre-surgery conversations with Deol indicated that he was attempting to get a bone to bone fusion, he now speaks instead of a "soft, fibrous fusing of the bones" which has been of no success at all. The toe is now 1/2" shorter than it was to begin with, and it buckles to the side at a 40 degree angle. It is very painful and I have to tape it and wear orthotic devices between my toes to be able to walk at all. He has very little to offer now to fix the problem, and speaks about the changes in my foot in terms that are patently incorrect, (e.g. ("The toe isn't shorter than it was before", when visual observation of the left and right foot show how wrong that statement is) Deol also counsels against further surgery, saying additional procedures will not produce good results, which is the opposite of his advise going in the first time, when he was very gung-ho about surgical procedures. Of course he is frustrated with the results I have achieved, but I feel his procedures and strategies were faulty to begin with.

I came to Dr Deol for a common procedure: a bunion on my foot that was preventing me from fitting into shoes. He made me feel very confidant that he will fix everything. Now I have already had 2 surgeries and looking at a third to repair the damage that he has done. My big toe now sticks out to the side, making it even harder for me to fit into shoes, which was the whole point of coming to him in the first place. Now I can't even wear the shoes I used to be able to, and need special expensive shoes. Please don't make the same mistake I did, I will regret this for the rest of my life! Dr Deol is a terrible orthopedic surgeon, please don't make my mistake.

Dr. Deol is an excellent surgeon. He took time to answer all my questions and concerns. He makes you feel very at ease. I would recommend him to my family and friends.
