I am not happy with the care I have been receiving from this physician. He started out with what seemed to be a caring attitude and went the extra mile to find out what was causing my abdominal discomfort. However, he has changed and now he has become lackluster in his enthusiasm to find out the crux of patients’ problems, and appears to have gotten lazy. When it came to coming up with a blood pressure medicine for me, instead of relying on his supposed knowledge and expertise, he took my own personal printouts I had gotten off the Internet that described the pros and cons of certain blood pressure medicines and attempted to make a professional recommendation based on the printouts I had for my own personal information. Also, since I am a patient who has “White Coat Syndrome, I showed up for one of my appointments with high blood pressure (which is to be expected with White Coat Syndrome), and he stated he could not let me leave the office without prescribing blood pressure medicine (which was based on what the readings were at his office instead of what they were at home). That, in my opinion, is a false judgment and the recommendation should have been based on the readings I took at home which are more accurate when dealing with White Coat Syndrome.
This doctor does not listen! When it comes ordering a refill on a prescription, it should not take two weeks to accomplish this routine yet important task. I communicated with him face-to-face at an office visit and through the patient portal that when it’s time for a refill, I will need a lower dose. When that time came, I notified the office through the patient portal that I needed a refill. A week and a half later, no one (not even the staff) had even read my request. When I called to find out what was going on, they verified that it usually takes 48 hours for them to respond. There was no explanation from them as to why a whole week and a half had gone by with no one acknowledging the refill request. I spoke to a person who calls herself “Jen” and she seemed unconcerned and even went as far as to cop a mocking attitude by using an exaggerated accent with me on the phone to let me know she didn’t care about my request being overlooked. Instead, she gave some flimsy excuse that whenever the dosage is changed, it is often overlooked because the office uses a default system leading us to believe that they will refill a prescription exactly at the last dosage simply by default instead of reading the request of the patient (which happened to request a refill at a lower dose). This is alarming behavior and worthy of investigation! People’s lives are at stake here!
A physical in his office only lasts 5 minutes. He takes your blood pressure, checks your heartbeat, and sends you out the door without any labs and then charges you an inflated fee one would receive with a much more thorough examination. He is simply there to collect a paycheck. My youngest daughter went to see him before going back to college and she asked him what she should do to protect herself from Monkeypox. He simply seemed unconcerned and told her to “look it up” as he didn’t know much about what to tell her about the subject.
