I have been seeing Dr. Surpris for over 15 years. My mother brought me to her when I was 15 years old and had seen over 5 different doctors with nothing to show for it. One visit with Dr. Surpris and for the first time me and my mom felt like there was light at the end of the tunnel. When I first when to see her I was beyond depressed and had other psychologists telling me that I should just take my GED and move on with life which to me was unacceptable. Under Doctor Surpris's care I not only graduated high school with honors but I went on to a top university and from there got my MBA. Both me and my mom know that without Dr. Surpris none of that would have been possible. My family and I will forever be grateful to the God send that is Dr. Marie Surpris.

This woman does not care about the people she is helping. How does a child psychiatrist have hours during the day while children are in school? That sounds a bit off don’t you think? How unfair that she has bankers hours and not a care in the world for other people’s schedules or family emergencies. It’s sad that psychiatrists try to use their professional verbiage to bully patients. My child was not helped by her. She confused my child much more and made my child very uncomfortable. I think it should be against the law to practice without working with an insurance carrier. My family is not happy with this doctor and will not refer her to anyone.

Despite my grown son having many problems due to his having Asperger's Syndrome, Dr Supris has made him feel very comfortable in her presence and he looks forward to every visit. She has also done a good job keeping on top of his reactions to his medications and when and if changes need to be made.

In reference to the review posted on 8/13/18
We all know the profile of a disgruntled individual…If you are proud of what you are doing you should state your name. This one in particular is not my patient but is definitely a bully.
One outrageous complaint- mostly based on money. It’s unfortunate that emotionally labile adults who don’t want to take responsibility for themselves have a forum to slander a hard -working professional’s name and blatantly lie.

Dr. Surpris is compassionate and caring as well as knowledgeable. I'm a patient in her Riverhead, NY office. She has a warm way of treating me.

Would highly recommed Dr. Surpris. From my first visit to present she accurately was able to pinpoint my problems, provide therapeutic and prescription regimines that got me quickly back on track. No long waits and a true one on one experience.

Dr. Surpris is very skilled at what she does. She recognizes the equal importance of medication and discussing with the patient behavioral technique treatments. She manages to the make the conversation feel at once both comfortable and productive.
