Compared to my last doctor (Dr. Sabin), Dr. Duru is a saint. While in general for all doctors at UCDavis there is a significant wait time, Dr. Duru has always been courteous and attentive with me. She has agreed to "squeeze me in" on several occasions where I couldn't wait 3 weeks for an appointment, and has been helpful with any health issue I have brought to her.

Very passive person. She did not return my call, she had her Medical Assistant return the call, who of course can not answer any of my questions. Dr Duru advised thru the MA, that diabetes lab results showed that I was poorly controled. Howver, she let me just hanging. She did not make any suggestions on how to get it back into proper control. She does not appear to know much about diabetes. I had to be very pro-active and I had to be the one to request a referral to a Endocrinogist. She should have taken the inititive. She never told me about any Diabetes educational classes and she ordered two prescribtions incorrectly. Wrong dosage on one rx and the other rx was one I had an allergic reaction to in the past and was indicated in my chart. I think she is either "burned out" or does not care about her job. She needs to get out of this profession. She sucks....

I did not like Dr Duru at all. On several occasions I sat in her room for almost an HOUR waiting for her. She did not ask questions or provide an explanations unless asked. She has a hard time giving referrals and does not return phone calls in a timely manner.

She prescribed me Dilantin for my seizure disorder and the adult recommended dose of Dilantin is 100 mg 3 times a day and she prescribed me 300 mg 3 times a day!! After 4 days of taking the medication I was a zombie, practically drooling on myself. It wasn't until my wife looked up Dilantin in the Physicians Desk Reference and found that this woman had prescribed me 3 times the recommended dose which could've killed me. Please beware. I've considered reporting her.
