I have been a patient for 10 years, being treated for migraine and brain tumor. I always found him to be knowledgeable, supportive, willing to work as part of a team, understanding, and one a few who treated me like a person, not a "condition". He held me accountable for decisions that I made that affected my health, but never judged me for those decisions(smoking periodically, refusing certain treatments). Truly concerned about the whole person!!

Dr. Patel was able--through an intelligent blend of alternative and "Western" medicine--to dramatically improve my migraine headaches. I found him very willing to discuss my problem, my ideas about it, and to work with me. I found that he listened well and was a very pleasant and attentive doctor. I have had several appointments with him over the past 9 months, and have great confidence in him.

This doctor has a terrible "bedside manner". He lectures and if you do not like his treatment suggestion, he may refuse to work with you. He gets angry if patients do their own research and actually *yelled* at me when I came in his office with evidenced based information. His recommendations went against typical recommendations for pregnancy so I brought him ACOG literature and he was angry and said he could not treat me if "you want to be your own doctor". He also "prescribes" treatments that he sells, and that he supplies (expensive yoga classes he teaches) If you do not want to do/cannot afford the expensive treatments/classes, he considers that to mean you "do not really" want to get well. This is unethical.
