I am a new patient of Dr. Somer-Shely's as of December 31, 2011. She is my hero! She and her staff were fabulous during my ablation surgery and the results are life-changing. I would highly recommend her and am forever grateful that I found her.

Dr. Somer-Shely has been great so far for my pregnancy. I'm just about due and I only have good things to say about her and her staff. I think she must have gotten new nurses, because the one I deal with (Becca) is always friendly and helpful. I've heard from other staff members at Methodist that they would probably go through her for their future deliveries, so it's comforting to know that she is well-respected among her peers.

When I went into labor, despite it being my 2nd child, Dr. Shely didn't believe I was really in labor and made me leave the hospital. I was also given the option to stay and get a shot of morphine. I came into the hospital at 5:30 am, they made me leave around 7 am. I was having major labor pains so I headed back to the hospital. I called her office to tell them and they wanted me to come to the office and have my cervix checked there first despite having contractions every 3 minutes that lasted about 1 minute each! I had my baby just 3 hours later. So she is a nice enough doctor as long as if your baby comes on her schedule. If not, be prepared to be sent home or she'll want to drug you up.

Dr. Somey-Shely was my doctor for my first pregnancy. She was always very nice and answered all my questions. I loved the office on 90th Dodge. Staff was always very nice and I loved my nurse. Whenever she had to poke me with a needle it never hurt and she always found my vein with one poke! Unfortunatly I went into labor while she was out of town so Dr. Basset delievered my son. Dr. Basset was very nice!

Dr. Somer was very nice and helpful! She was my doctor for my first pregnancy. I loved the doctor's office, everyone was very friendly. She didn't get to deliever my baby since she was out of town when my water broke, but whe did awesome on the prenatal care!

Dr. Somer-Shely has been instrumental to my 2 foster daughters while helping educate them on birth control, STD management, etc. She relates well with teen-agers and provides them with respect and confidentiality. I recommend Dr. Shely any time that I have the opportunity. Thanks for your professionalism and over-all care to you patients.

I love Dr. Shely!!! She is helpful and makes you feel very welcomed. She has two nurses that I speak to often--Shawna and Debbie. Debbie is terrible! Shawna is delightful!!!! I felt as though I could deal with Dr. Shely even if Debbie sucked. I don't know if anyone has ever told Dr. Shely that one of her nurses is rude?

Dr. Somer-Shely was wonderful throughout my pregnancy and especially at the end when we discovered that my daughter was breech and that I would need a c-section. She made sure that all of my questions were answered and that I was comfortable with any decisions I had to make. She helped a great deal with the anxiety I started having in the operating room and made sure I was comfortable before starting. I also had great experiences with her in-office nursing staff. The triage nurses were great too, but sometimes took longer than I would have liked in returning calls, but none of my calls were emergencies.

I am on my 3rd pregnancy and I have had nothing but positive results with Dr. Somer-Shely. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is always helpful and willing to answer any questions that I have. I have had no problems with any of her nursing staff and they have always been both friendly and helpful. I never feel like I am a bother to her if I have to contact her after hours or on the weekend.
