Just left Dr. Powers office, I have been a patient of Dr. Powers for over 10 years, he has ALWAYS been very accommodating , patient and caring whenever I have had a problem and my situations have mainly been emergency needs, like today. A tooth was broken at the gum line, I feared the worst, that I would have to have dental implant( $3100, bridge work $ 2500 or no tooth and win the jack-o - latern contest. He did the root canal and a crown . Was I grateful and the experience was pleasant. The staff was wonderful , office nice and staff very caring. Since, I have been in the Charleston area, I have only had the experience of 2 caring dentist, the first has retired and Dr. Powers has been there for me for 10 years, I will recommend him as a very qualified person, and I have never seen or heard of any of the bad manners in all my visits . I have been there at all times of the day. I have seen staff come and go in many offices, both dental , specialist and family doctors but each new person has been a caring person. The office manager, Meme, is a jewel., She is doing a wonderful job, so pleasant so professional and such an ornament to the office. I have known doctor powers for a very long time it is not his fault entirely for the turn over he is like any other boss to work for they all get mad he has a problem with people doing things the wrong way when assistants come out of school most of them do things the wrong way and you have to do things the way the doctor you work for wants you to do them he tries to teach them but they persist in doing it their own way I love doctor powers to death and I don't want to say anything bad about him it is his fault but is not at the same time but regardless of staff he is a very very good dentist I have seen him do things that other dentist can't do and to the person who said he does not keep his office clean he does to I have been one to clean it and keep it clean assistants who work there just don't see the rooms get cleaned because they are not the one that does it his office is clean and he is very nice to all of his patients some people also may have problems with there mouth that others don't root canals are not supposed to hurt but that infection can somtimes still hurt mine hurt but that's because we found out my tooth was fractured it's not his fault it's the person who takes car of their mouths fault Dr. Powers can only try to fix it

Very very rude! His office where his patients sit is dirty. They don't clean it properly or clean off the hand tools buttons or cords like they should Each time. He is very disrespectful! He may be ok to his patients but to his staff he is awful! He will make you work ALL day (11 hrs straight) and expect you not to eat or rest your feet! No Breaks, No Lunches! I will not recommend to anyone to work there, and really I wouldn't even get my appointments scheduled there. That's just my opinion and personal experience!

Despite what others may say, Dr. Powers is an exceptional Dentist. His level of care is second to none. I have never had a bad experience and always leave his office feeling confident and great about my smile. His staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating to my every need. As a person that was terrified of the Dentist my entire life, I can honestly say I look forward to my visits with Dr. Powers and his staff. Thanks to all of you for taking such great care of me and my family!

Dr. Powers is a very gifted and talented Dentist. He answered all my questions and overall the experience was very pleasant. I had a root Canal done and by the end I was ready for more. It was a wonderful experience. Im sorry that other people had a not so pleasant time. But regardless of staff his talent speaks for it self. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you for taking care of my teeth

HORRIBLE!! In my opinion, This office is the most unprofessional dental office I've ever seen. This "dr." cusses and screams at his staff in front of his patients. It is obvious that they've not been properly trained. His staff seems to be on a revolving door Bc they're never the same. I had a root canal done and have had nothing but pain and trouble since allowing this "Dr." to perform work in my mouth. If I had it to do all over again, I would NEVER cast a shadow on this doorway.

Last time I went, Dr. Powers could not find the cement he needed to finish my root canal, and he left my root canal improperly finished. Plus, he tried to cover up the fact that he couldn't find the cement he needed. I only found out because I persisted in asking questions about my tooth. He made it look like everything had been done properly. And each time I have gone for an appointment, it seems like there is a totally new staff, from front desk help to his dental assistants. There is an obvious phenomenal turnover of employees, and this raises some red flags for me and makes me wonder about his ability to deliver quality dentistry, as was evident when he couldn't find the cement he needed. It is evident that something is wrong with this practice and I will not be returning there again. Plenty of good quality dentists out there.
