I have been a patient of Dr Shahim's for a couple of years. The staff and nurses are all very good, they are kind and stay on top of things. Dr. Shahim has always explained everything to me and taken care to listen to me. I needed back surgery and have had several other doctors tell me that Shahim is an excellent surgeon. So at the end of December 2017 I had my back surgery at ASH, all went well. The care I received at ASH was absolutely top of the line. I have been having knee problems so Dr Shahim immediately referred me to a knee Doctor his nurse called and set up the appointment. I appreciate the care I receive from Dr Shahim and his staff.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shahims for many years. All the way back to 2000. He has performed several spine surgeries on me. He has always been world class and has always treated me and my family with the utmost respect and kindness. In addition he has a world class staff whom have always treated me with utmost respect. I know when he walks in the room I’m going to get it straight and to the point. I like that. Many years ago he nailed my long term prognosis. And he continues today to be my neurosurgeon and will continue to be. World class doctor, world class staff and world class facility. Thank you for taking care of my needs for all these years.

Absolutely humiliated my mom. She'd been in pain for several months so when we got in to see him, we thought maybe she would get some relief. Instead, we all were made to feel like we were unworthy of his time and presence. Never met a more arrogant, self righteous man in my life. If we had needed surgery, we would have went elsewhere

My daughter has been cared for by Dr. Shahim for over 12 years. She has brain cancer and he has done numerous brain surgeries on her beginning in 2003. Our confidence in him is beyond 5 and we follow him wherever his career takes him. He is honest, caring and knowledgeable . If we could rate him higher, we would. He has been a huge part of her still being with us and still being the same sweet soul she was before he did her first brain surgery.. We have and will continue to recommend him highly!

I had surgery twice and one injection. The first surg he cleaned up everything and removed some bone spurs. Had first injection and he said that they wouldn't help and needed surg again. 2 months later I went back and after he attempted to put screws in I had sum fractures to occur. Stopped surg, told me I had osteoporosis and that's what causes the fractures. How he missed that the first time is beyond me! Now says won't b able to work anymore and said to file for disability. This has been a nightmare!!!

Dr Shahim and all of his staff took the time that you as the patient needed to understand all aspects of what your condition was and what could be done. He suggested minimally invasive procedure instead of back fushion and was very good at explaining why. Excellent Dr., staff and Hospital. Had surgery on 8/6/2013 and returned to work on 8/26. I had daily pain and numbness and now I feel no pain or numbness. Would recommend him to everybody.

I was not fond of his nurse. She didn't send my insurance papers quickly enough, so my first procedure was rescheduled twice. When I asked her questions she seemed put off. I also didn't like that I had to go through her to make all my appointments. All of the other staff was very nice and helpful. However, Dr Shahim is very good at what he does, takes time to answer questions and is very straight forward. I've had three injections, one facet and two epi and we are now scheduling surgery.
