I had a not so great experience. Heather was my OB. She was very polite and kind at appointments, but fell short when it mattered. She told me I wasn’t in labor when I was and sent me home. Then I called the ER at 2am crying in pain (labor) and they patched me to her. She told me that I wasn’t in labor and that if I really felt like I needed to, then go in (sarcastically). My husband made me go in (I was very discouraged but in a lot of pain). Turns out I was indeed in labor. She had me push for 2 1/2 hours until I couldn’t keep my eyes open and felt like I was losing consciousness. My son was born healthy (thank goodness). I didn’t know but I had hemorrhaged pretty bad during labor. The next day she discharged me without having had me try to walk or anything. Little did I know, I had a hemoglobin level of 6.5. The minimum your body is supposed to have is 12. As I tried to walk out of the hospital I was dizzy and dry heaving. The nurse walking with me said ‘oh, that’s not good’ when we had to stop so I could sit halfway through my walk to the front doors. I ended up back in the ER getting blood transfusions a few days after getting home. I don’t say this to be rude or bash her as a professional, however, I don’t want others going through the horrible experience like the one I had. I truly thought I was going to die.
