Dr rhicard is a horrible dentist. My wife took our 5 year old daughter there for a filling. After 5 minutes in the chair my wife left. He was yelling at my daughter telling her that if she didn't stop fidgeting he would have to tie her down. All the while she was staring in to the mirrored light above her as he was holding a needle by her mouth. Zero bedside manner zero patience with children and downright rude and completely unprofessional. Do not go to him!!!!

When I was 15 "Dr hricard" told me I had precancerous signs in my mouth in his unethical attempt to persuade me from smoking. I lived in fear until his unscientific diagnosis was disproved. Then, at 17 he said his skills with hypnosis would ease all pain while extracting an unerupted impacted wisdom tooth. He cut my gum wide open and used a laser to cut my tooth in half while I complained and cringed the whole time. He went to extract the next and I got up and left. He is the worst "dentist" I have ever seen and suspect all his positive reviews are bogus or from family members. I am shocked this man has not been sued, punched or had license pulled.

I'm not quite sure if the raving reviews of Dr. Rhicard were written by actual patients of this dentist. I went to the practice because of sheer logistical ease. After 3 visits, I am absolutely appalled by Dr. Rhicard's "chairside" manner. I have never heard such derogatory comments or anger towards staff as openly from a medical professional. The first time, I chalked it up to a bad day, but the second time was enough for me. I will definitely talk to friends before blindly choosing a new dentist this time. I'm all done with this office!

Dr. Rhicard is simply EXTRAORDINARY! There isn't a rating high enough here to give him. The attention he gave to both my daughter and me, went above and beyond any experience I had ever encountered with the dime a dozen dentists that I had previously seen. His kind manner puts you totally at ease, in what might otherwise be a highly stressful situation. He diligently explored options for anesthesia, when in the past I had experienced issues with Novocaine and skillfully addressed one issue after another, saving one tooth at a time. His patient expertise rescued me from having teeth pulled and corrected orthodontic issues with my daughter that would have otherwise, cost thousands of dollars to repair. His experience with Hypnotherapy was an additional asset as was his warm and highly accommodating staff.

Dr. Rhicard is undoubtedly, among the finest dentists in the valley and beyond. I can never thank him enough for what he did for me and what he has done for the hundreds of individuals that he devotedly offers his services to, in Haiti and elsewhere. I would never consider recommending another Dentist above him, locally or anywhere across the state!!

I had mixed experience with Dr. Rhicard over the 2 or so years I was his patient. But my reason for writing, and one thing I believe he should make clear to patients upfront, is that he does not believe in prescribing pain medication. While there is clearly abuse in that area and reason to be cautious, there are also many cases where pain medication in the proper dosage can be very helpful. I was in excruciating pain for over a week and, despite three attempts to get the doctor to prescribe me something, he continued to refuse. It wasn't as if I wandered in off the street looking for pain meds. I was a regular patient and he was very aware of the kind of pain I was in, he just didn't want to violate his own personal code. As I said, if that is what he believes, fine. But a potential patient should be made aware of that. I found a new dentist who immediately took care of my problem and couldn't believe I was expected to get by on Dr. Rhicard's suggestion of ibuprofen.

We finally found our dentist! Dr. Rhicard is both personable and knowledgeable. He is the first dentist to not only tell us which teeth needed attention but also asked us to allow him to find out why. In this way, Dr. Rhicard is determined to find the solution so that the dental issue is resolved. His staff is friendly and professional making sure that we are always greeted and moved quickly through the procedure. After having the same dentist for 30 years, until he retired, it became necessary to find a doctor whom we could trust. It took some time to find Dr. Rhicard. Now we have a dentist that we can trust and recommend to family members and friends. We are happy and look forward to a long relationship with our new dentist, Dr. Rhicard.

The visit is about cash. They want to be paid in full yesterday! No time payments offerd unless via credit card. Was told I had to have full head X-rays instead of bite wing-when I declined, the good Dr. became agitated. He also cracked a tooth during a crown foundation, and denied this upon a second examination. This caused me daily pain and taking asperine. He would not admit to it, but another DDS, MD found it. Thus, tooth was beyound repair and I lost it. When I mentioned this, he was very "so what". So, while he may be a great doctor to most, he failed me-perhaps he had a bad day or week.

If best is a 5 on this scale, 100 would be appropriate! Dr Rhicard is simply an amazing, compassionate and skilled dentist whose level of attentiveness, personal commitment and reassuring manner, goes far beyond the dime a dozen dentists that we have all come to experience! He is honest and integral and comes to understand Each patient, individually! His commitment to ethical dentistry extends beyond his highly regarded practice in South Hadley, through his self-less volunteer work in Haiti! Dr. Rhicard is an excellent dentist and remarkable human being to boot!! I tell everyone I know about him and the incredible work he has done for me!
